I'd just like to say, this project looks fantastic. I'm curious, since this is obviously targeted at adult collectors, will the end product be something that can handle actual "play"?
I am not a collector, I buy Joes and off-brand vehicles for my kid to play with (with the hope I get to play with him, from time to time, sure ). If the MARV can handle 9-year-old level of play, then I am most definitely interested in it. I have found the World Peacekeeper line of toys to be too fragile for play for the most part, mainly because the plastic is too thin and rigid but also for poor design choices (tiny door hinges, tires mounted to flimsy plastic studs rather than axles, that kind of stuff). I have had pretty good luck with True Heroes / Chap Mei toys. A middle ground example from my experience would be the Elite Force up-armored humvee toy, which is not as rugged as the sandbox toys of my own youth, but which is sufficiently robust to handle play without crumbling to pieces. If the MARV is comparable in ruggedness/sturdiness/play-ability as that up-armored humvee, then I am in for one at least. Good luck with this and thanks for keeping the forum here in the loop, Greg. I am excited to see how the project goes. |

I think maybe you need to scale the M2 down a lot - unless you are not going for realism on the weapon to ensure it is a toy and not a model?

Yeah, it won't swing past the snorkel or the whip at that current size. Toy or not, that's a range of motion problem that ought to be addressed.

I'm in for 2, maybe 3 depending on the available deco's. Any clue as to what add on's will be available as far as weapon's systems?

There are no firm plans for additional military add-ons just yet as I need to see how the vehicle itself does, as well as the first two planned add-on kits. I can say a remote CROWs turret is high on my list for an alternate turret option.

The MARV prototype has arrived! Posted below are a few highlight photos. More images (over 80 shots!) can be seen on the Wayward Goat Facebook page: MARV Prototype Albums
Pricing information should be locked in this week. There are also several revisions to make on the design after reviewing the sample. I'm happy to report that one of those revisions will be a smaller gun size (will be reduced to ~3.5" length to line up with GI Joe and Elite Force accessories).

This looks absolutely phenomenal. I can't wait to get a look at some of the add-ons, like the zombie and mad max / dreadnok add-on kits.
Also, is the vehicle based on an actual real-life military counterpart? |
