National Treasure 1 and 2 are about the only Cage movies I can stomach.
Even with hot ass Angelina Jolie, I cant watch Gone in 60. Im glad that Superman Lives got shit canned for Returns, he woulda ruined Superman for me. He ranks up there with John Travolta, and Tom Cruise (I do like the MI movies) as the worst 3 actors of the past 30 years.

So did no one see that 8 days after That Hash Tag Show's on the G.I. Joe movie that Hasbro tapped a writer for the movie? Which means what That Hash Tag Show said about the movie is most likely not going to happen.

I really think the 'stand alone Snake Eyes movie' should basically be a Prequel. I know that all the cool nerds might hate the prequel sort of thing. But if you think about it, it could really make sense and it could be super easy to do as you could easily have cameos by other pre-Joes in it. This presents ample opportunities to tell a good story of the backgrounds of certain characters. It could get the audience to actually care about who these people are (something that most films struggle with) and more importantly this could all lead to a 'soft-reboot' of the next GI Joe mainline movie franchise. Hire a good young actor to play Snake Eyes (the actor that played Han in Solo, maybe?) This could really segue into Snake Eyes being the main character (masked and silent) for the future GI Joe franchise.

A snake Eyes Movie can Work, Just "stick with the origin story" and of-course there's room for creativity from writers and Directors to update it and fill in the gaps with some good material. Writing in useless things unrelated to the source material is what gets these movies in trouble. This is why ROC flopped for most fans, especially if you are well read in the comic series. In The Snake-eyes film We can witness the beginning of Snake-eyes and Scarlet's relationship. We get a glimpse of other Joe's who fought with Snake-eye on the combat fields and characters like Zartan and even Firefly can appear in the film, but best of all... Storm Shadow and Snake training under the Hard Master and plenty of Martial arts and Ninjas.
In My opinion the best G.I. Joe Film was the Resolute Animation. I would rather see this style animation in a multi seasoned series on Netflix than a movie, because I've simply lost faith in the Movies. The scene where Snakeyes Glides off the aircraft onto the island and takes out that Cobra Guard was the comics brought to life. A tear of joy trickled down my eye. There are things about SE that SHOULD NOT be left up to someone that doesnt know his head from his ahole. His family and sister for starters. Going to their grave at all in the movie, unless they just show him standing at it from behind they are gonna need to show the headstone, which would reveal his last name finally. |
