No matter what they do, it's guaranteed to piss off 75% of existing Joe fans anyway.

So am I the one who just realized a few people on this thread have proof that this "leak" is fake?

I think the GI Joe product line will get a significant overhaul regardless what happens. Hasbro's been aggressive in moving production out of China for a LOT of their product lines. Like what happened in Transformers in 2013/2014, we're going to see Hasbro, effectively, abandon older assets in favor of moving forward.

Toy line needs to pretty much ignore the old angry GI Joe fans who want nothing but old style of figures. They need to overhaul the toys that can attract a new crowd. Move to 6", get higher quality toys, make stuff that collectors will want and stop trying to please your old school fans who is sadly a dying market.
Now they did play with scale in the past, but the related media was also not very successful. Even if the toys are good, you still need the show/movie to well also for the line to have longevity. A difficult thing though is keeping a toy line running, without constant media presence of a tv show, movies, etc, it's hard to keep toys coming. You release new GI Joe along with a new movie for a year or so, but once the hype is gone, you have a hard time releasing anymore toys as stores are busy stocking up on the new current hotness. Paramount wants to bring GI Joe back, they need not only a movie, but they need corresponding animation and other ventures to keep the franchise alive. They need to evolve the franchise, take it new places, as the old fan base who is determined to have it never leave the 80's will not keep it alive. Quote:
Nah.. we’re not that dead yet... just dormant. There’s some juice... it’s just got to be good. I expect 6” figures to be a big thing in G.I. Joes’ future. I wish they’d look at animation and TV instead of the big screen, though. Put the Sunbow stuff on Netflix, and announce a new series. If Voltron can get this far with a new Netflix series, Joe would have no trouble going even farther. Make the new toys look just like the show. Do a classics line, like the 25th for the old folks and kids alike. Make different kinds of toys, like Nerf style guns, drones, etc. Do a video game. I think the movie thing is highly overrated... unless you’re partnering with Disney and NOT Paramount.

This sounds like an awesome dumpster fire! Honestly couldn't care less, if they don't have the will to do it right, at least it will be an excuse for them to deliver some product to the stores.

ThatHashTagShow gave news based on an old script. Because at CinemaCon last month Paramount & Hasbro said that the upcoming G.I. Joe movie is a full reboot and not a soft one.

Lets see. We got a yellow...then a green, I think blue is next in the color spectrum. A smurf blowtorch! See now I'm glad I didn't throw away the 50th dusty & bazooka.
