The only problem I had with Rise of Cobra was the fact that they had all these unnamed generic GI Joe characters. Had they at lease given them all classic names, and some hint of their classic attire (something akin to the early X-men movies) then I would have been satisfied. The story itself was very, very Sunbow-like.

Go drill a hole in an ice cube and put it in a glass of salt water, Ill wait.
Now if there are steel beams in the tunnel structure that is a different matter. Here is the script btw: Bloody hell. They've built a military base under the polar icecap. It's the perfect location. Nearly undetectable, easily defensible. -Duke's got to be in there somewhere. -And the warheads. We have to find a quiet way to get inside. Elevator cables. They've got a surface entrance. Guys, there's something else. Going to sonar view. They've got tunnels running through the ice pack. Hey, look, they've got their own attack subs. Okay, what's that? -Missile tubes. -Must be for the nanomite warheads. Take us up. I'll create a distraction from outside and keep them busy while you lot infiltrate the facility from above. We'll find Duke... -Grab the warheads. -Kill all the bad guys.

ROC was very much a live action cartoon and I kinda enjoyed that aspect of it, but it just didn't really look like I was watching GI Joe. |

Am I the only one who thinks that making a movie around an actor is a bad idea? Why is Roadblock the main character again? Is this a Dwayne Johnson vehicle, as if he needs another one?
Ten years of Marvel movies and Hasbro still doesn't understand the importance of intelectual property and brand recognition, or how do you put comic books on the big screen. Hasbro Studios should be called "I hope it's not gonna be lame this time" Studios.

Your not the only one cappeca.
I think that Dwayne Johnson being the star of every single movie that he is in is over rated. Hasbro should focus more on the team instead of individual characters. |

In a word - yes. Successful actors (note: I'm not saying "good" necessarily) draw huge crowds at the box office. Every movie company in the world knows that. There are many obscure movies that are very good (often called "sleepers") that probably would have done better had they starred an actor with a reputation. On the other side of the coin, there are movies that do better than they should simply because of the first name in the credits.

I can’t figure out why The Rock is a successful actor. He is exactly the same in every movie he is in. That’s not really acting.
