I’m more surprised to hear he enjoyed being on any set, honestly.

Eccleston has been bitching about GI Joe for years.

He sucked as Destro, BTW, but you could say that about pretty much anything in ROC.

Yeah I do notice a lot of times whenever an actor says that they didn't like a particular movie that they were in they basically sucked at their part anyways. And I do believe personally that even though a movie may have a bad script if the actors have enough passion to make the movie work the script wouldn't matter so much. So his comment just tells me that even though he didn't like working on the movie he basically didn't care for it either so he probably just didn't put his all into it.

Eccleston is a bit of a “luvvy” as we call them in the UK. He clearly has his views on what acting jobs he wants to be known for or what he thinks is meaningful. He’s done some good drama in the UK and perhaps he is a bit uncomfortable about his more mainstream work. Trouble is, like most actors he needs to pay the bills and he does work he is less than proud of. He should probably just take the money and keep quiet.
He comes across as quite dismissive of those roles that aren’t seen as serious drama and usually blames the film makers for not letting him play it as he wanted to. He suggests that his vision was far superior. See also Doctor Who and Thor 2. |

Dude sounds like a pain in the arse.
I prefer Michael Caine's attitude, a guy who'll appear in almost anything, when asked about a bad movie he was in (Jaws 4) "I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific." |

Yeah, ever since I learned about his complaints after working on Doctor Who, and his refusal to take part in any way with the franchise now, I really don't give a flying **** about his opinion.

The first Destro at the beginning was better, but I read he had visa issues or something that prevented him from being the main Destro.

Are you talking about the guy that played Destro's ancestor in the flashback scene at the beginning?
