Exactly. I don't think they understand how 3P TFs are made, which is why a Club that Hasbro has provided licensing to and can use their factories could be doing the same. Look, I get it, it's a clownshow. But it didn't have to be. Knowing what I know about production for "mass produced plastic toys" in China, and more importantly, low volume runs of plastic toys in the same factories, I can state with a high degree of confidence that making a mold for even something as oddball as Golobulus is not anywhere near as scary or cost-prohibitive as some want it to sound.

I think maybe one of the reasons for confusion is that we're not talking about building an entire factory, just creating molds to run in the existing factory. If molds for simple plastic toys cost a hundred thousand dollars each and/or required hundreds of thousands of units produced to break even, third party TFs wouldn't exist. The fact that they exist and make a profit selling a run of 5k or less of much more complex figures that sell in the US market for no more than $100 and much, much lower prices in local Asian markets, argues against such a claim. "I could be wrong, but I'm not."

PM me the point of contact and when I can find the time I will at least approach them for a conversation about it.
"still not sure how you making a new golobulus for the community gets the rom and mask movies back on track." I'm sorry you have trouble following the flow of a conversation, but if you look back just two pages you'll see my initial comment was a response to Ic3 Vip3r who brought up the topic of G.I.Joe sculpts, repaints, and viability of the brand continuing in its current form. Cheers. Last edited by edgecrusher; 02-06-2018 at 10:42 AM.. |

Cheers. start yourself a new thread on how you are going to fix hasbro. I'm sure it will be the same riveting read, and oddly enough, eerily similar content as your last thirty posts. |

This is more along the lines of general Hasbro/Paramount film news, but the Action Man movie is moving forward:
James Bobin To direct ‘Action Man’ For Paramount Players | Deadline |

"Bobin directed two Muppets movies and Alice Through the Looking Glass. Raised in Hampshire, England, he likely grew up with those action figures. Paramount deferred comment to Hasbro, which was unresponsive. Considering Hasbro tried to buy Lionsgate and has been involved in so many branded toy films including Transformers and G.I. Joe, it is surprising the company doesn’t appear to have PR that returns calls and emails."
laugh. out. loud. maybe the club isn't ending, maybe brain and the gang are just taking over hasbro. |
