Except that most people *don't care*. Also, if MJ's plans come together we'll eventually have forces from all over the world from every 'era' of it to fight against each other. This first assortment of figures isn't the complete toyline and shouldn't be judged as such at this point in time. You're critiquing a work in progress, if MJ gets his wishes (and monies).

Pfft, now you’re just conceding my point.
Anyway, as Kevin previously noted, there’s evidently a non-trivial number of people who *do care* about this, so it shouldn’t be a huge issue, especially since it wouldn’t involve any changes made to the actual prototypes. Quote:
There’s nothing wrong with critiquing a work in progress. MJ has already mentioned that changes are going to be made to the Japanese (and, I believe, the Russian) designs as a result of outside input concerning uniform details. |

Well, I'll buy them all regardless of the uniform year. If MJ can make the changes without any serious complications to the timetable and the funding I welcome it. But if it puts him in a compromising position of delivering the goods, I would say it is not necessary, but provides him the incentive to do those uniforms sooner rather than later. The big concern would be if the uniform change affects tooling or a simple re-paint.

I'd like to see both, which makes the suggestion to do the officers with two-tone outfits appealing. Get the unicolor outfits for the enlisted and have the officers looking more interesting with the two-tone outfits. Nothing's worse than bland unicolor outfits on everyone. We have enough of that with the Marines, Japanese, and some of the US Army figures. Having two-tone Germans helps liven things up quite a bit and actually looks better facing off against the US Army figures that have some in two-tone outfits as well.

Plenty of people care in both directions, some want extreme accuracy, others want figures that look great on display. Go with visual appeal, you lose some of the former, go too bland, you lose the latter.

I am so excited for this line, but I'm clearly only approaching it from a toy standpoint. For the last several days this thread has kept me away , being filled with so much technical and historical knowledge that I cant even begin to catch up. Apparently I'm in it for the wrong reasons.

I’ll get some of the Germans either way, but I’d take the pre/early war Germans to go with my Indy collection.

Surely someone mentioned this, but it is funny the early war uniforms with a late war weapon (MP44). I really don't care, I can mix and match and make what I want and I am sure more Germans will follow in years to come.
