MTF figures hold modern guns fantastically well, but just wasn’t sure about the WW2 rifles without a handle.

As good as the older Marauder figs are at holding them, I expect, which is very well... one of the MTF guys posted an image on Facebook somewhere... they should post it in the kickstarter so that people without experience of the line can see it.
Really sucks not knowing how far down the unlocks this will get. Given the room I have for figs, I'm all about getting one representative sculpt of each, which so far is only 3 figs. I'd pledge the pick 6 if I knew they'd make it to the Desert shorts guys or even the Brits. So even though I want to pledge now and show my (admittedly paltry) support dollars, I'm kinda 'stuck' waiting to see how this pans out in the end. Wish there'd be a thing where you put in your pledge for the unlocks you want, and then kickstarter'd just drop the dollar amount if it doesn't reach the quantity threshhold or something. |

I wondered this as well. The hand grips are usually strong but posing figures with certain weapons are more challenging than others. Are there any pics of one holding the M1?

I think it's the elbow joint that makes those rifles harder to hold for the figures. The forearm needs to fold almost flat against the bicep for the trigger hand to seat properly while getting the rifle up against the figure's cheek for "aiming."
You almost need double hinged elbows for that, but those make figures look awful when not fully bent. (Plus they necessitate bicep swivels which structurally weaken the arm and also look awful when in use because biceps are not cylindrical - gaa!) Bottom line: unless MJ is going to offer alternate arms for use with those rifles, I doubt the figures are going to be flawless at shouldering the M1. It's a limitation of the joint style.

I like the new Adventure Team figure!
Maybe the British 8th Army figures from the Kickstarter will look equally great. I am especially looking forward to utilizing the Pith Helmet that comes with one of the Afrika Corps figures, for an Adventure Team custom.

I kinda wish they skipped the solid-color figures and got the British and Russians in at lower tiers. The solid-color figures are such a niche thing that they could be done as a separate initiative and not taking away from these awesome authentic color schemes. I also personally wouldn't care for "one of each" of those figures. They're completely useless in my collection and make me consider backing off that pledge level because I'll likely end up with some of those when it'd be significantly better if we got through all the real outfits first. It would also be kind of lame to only unlock a single Brit or something like that. I assume they'll move the unreached British and Russian unlocks into a separate kickstarter sequel?
