The sad thing here is clearly the most badass addons are the German paratroopers and US airborne.. hope they make it all the way to there. The Africa corps are neat with the shorts too.. I kinda wish they didn't do the solid color army men thing, or stacked them last, as they aren't that interesting to me. Maybe they're good for customs, but I'm not sure why you'd want solid colored heads at all, or such saturated body colors, beyond the Toy-story conceit, but even then do you need more than green?
Anyway, these are awesome. My limited space and budget will necessitate I wait a bit and see what gets unlocked, but yeah, I'm in for some at least. |

For series two I want German Mountain troops and Camo uniforms, British Paras, and Soviet Snipers and Naval Infantry.

Maybe it's the videogame player in me that is confused by the two-color German uniforms, but they do seem to exist in reference on the net. But I guess I kind of like the videogame simplicity of green->US tan->Japanese grey/black->German for clarity, but since they have multiple troop types it's not a terrible thing to have a range. I don't see an all-grey German though, maybe was just a winter-coat color thing historically?

I should add that the stone grey trousers were early war items (battle of France 1940), they were replaced with field grey trousers to match the tunics as the war went on. Last edited by Kevin; 02-16-2018 at 01:04 PM.. |

CADPAT is on the money, as usual. The German figure does have a distinct early war look.
As far as the uniform color is concerned...here are 16 German Feldbluse all in the “same” color:

I never picked up any of the previous Marauder figures... what's the general concensus on quality, compared to the best ME joes (like PoC, and some of the later ones)?

Frankly, I’m a bit flummoxed by the apparent timeline disparity between the U.S. and German figures. If the the Germans are equipped for 1939-1940, the American figures by rights ought to be kitted out for the same time-period (including Brodie helmets, Springfield rifles, etc) rather than for 1943-1944 as they are, and vice-versa. MTF (male) figures are perhaps the most perfectly-designed 1/18th-scale action figures I’ve ever handled, in terms of proportions, articulation, etc. The females are a little wonky by comparison, but overall quality is extremely high, on par with the best of the PoC offerings or better (notably, Marauder figures have much better-engineered gripping hands, for one thing). The general consensus is that they are %#^&ing amazing. Equal to or better than Hasbro Joes.
