That’s awesome! If possible, keep me updated because I’m really interested in trying a platform like this. I’ve never played D&D, heroclix, or any of the rpg style game but once I heard I could possibly use my joes in a turn based game I was sold. |

Shame it was cancelled, but the writing was on the wall when they couldn't break past the barrier to $8,000.

Maybe the RPG might be better as a stretch goal in either a figure kickstarter or a weapons and accessories (including those modular walls) kickstarter. Put it midway before stuff people are nuts over, but in a kickstarter where they also like the base item enough to buy multiples so those stretch goals start to unlock.
For example, the silver and gold troopers that didn't quite unlock in the dog/exosuit/contractor kickstarter...make them the kickstarter along with Val repaints (colors we have for males but not Vals) and some new modular gear as stretch goals (maybe include the woodland camo gear early on 'cause you know it will be a draw for people even if the camo figures don't unlock), then the RPG as a big stretch, then the woodland camouflage troopers from this kickstarter as a stretch pretty close after the RPG (heck, maybe make them a single stretch goal), then the modular walls. In that scenario, I think people would talk themselves into buying a lot more Super Troopers and repaints and you would pretty easily reach the start of the RPG stretch early on. Once the RPG unlocked (assuming it would), the camo figures would almost certainly unlock in a surge once people see them as the next tasty carrot. Once that happens, people would go crazy on the camo guys and that wall stretch goal might have a real chance of happening.

Kickstarters are all about getting something special sadly. People need a hook, and at times exclusive merch to bite. For a book, the kickstarter had a high goal to reach, while the attractive stretch goals were locked behind to far of a goal.
If anything the figures should be part of the main goal along with the book. The RPG market is also pretty saturated, and kick starter has made it easier for every person to drop their game ideas on the platform, so competition is fierce. Gotta offer stuff to make your game stand out. |

Sorry to hear it didn't work out. That has to stink, putting so much into a project and then having to go back to the drawing board. I hope the next iteration works out well for you.
In case it is helpful, my rationale for not pledging isn't a lack of interest. If I knew anyone local who'd play the stack of D&D, Shadowrun, and Warhammer games I've already got gathering dust on my shelves, I'd have happily pledged since it sounds like an excellent idea to combine awesome MTF figures and wargaming. But the only folks who I know locally who would play would be weirded out by a middle-aged dude joining their game (and I would be weirded out by joining as a middle aged man). As it stands, I just think I'm out of the RPG/tabletop market. Now if you find a way to make it into an XCom style computer game I will absolutely be on board! |

the presentation of the project was a total disaster, almost no info about the game sistem and it's details, no visual information, no gameplay short videos, they only post (when it was already death) a link with a huge text wall, this is not the way to sell a product like this, the video presentation was cheesy and it had nothing to do with the gameplay, I'm sorry if I sound a bit hard, I love the concept but it's sad to see a project like this fails due to a bad presentation, I suggest the creators of this to take a look to some wargame manuals, check the warhammer 40k one and it's visual photos and images to explain it's content, see how they do their videos, see the Infinity game videos... you cant put a wall of text explaining your game sistem, this is not the way to show your product, we need things more visual and more complete info
(...) what kind of dice uses? it have area weapons? how many players? single player? miniature/team experience mode? diffenrent biomes/enviorment rules? what kind of gear have rules? vehicles? how is the movement? the turns? how many phases it have? weapons with special rules? characters with special rules? how many different kind of missions it have? factions? only current age soldier units? civilians? psichic powers? ninjas? close combat? scenery rules? buildings? This is just a list of the things I have right now in mind... Last edited by arklight; 11-29-2017 at 08:24 PM.. |

as i have stated i know nothing about game play like this and was thinking that if i saw the video on how to play it would get me into it. along with the hope of getting one of those sweet figures.
i saw the small (seemed rushed) video and i was totally confused. i had no idea what a d8 was till i figured out it was a die. something with a laser pointer made me wonder wtf i was getting into. they had a blank sheet that said you can use this to keep track of your dude, ok so show me how dont just show it and set it down. i was really hopping that this would be an entry level game much like the card game that was put out some years back. i loved that thing because it was fun and easy, coming from someone who's first card game was that one it was easy for me to get into. if this had more planning done and better presentation i think it would have went farther. any questions asked were met with "we are still developing that" which tells me your just winging it. no detailed unboxing/ here is a basic game video detailing everything was a miss. i was on the fence and after the video i was like F that thing i'd have no idea what was going on and be stuck with it and no cool stretch goal figures to compensate for it. if the game came with the book on how to play. two tiny walls for cover. 4 basic figures with nothing but a helmet and gun (this lets you have figures off the bat which also makes you want to kit them out the way you want and hit up the MTF web site to do so) for the most basic of game plays. from there you can build your world. put a all in price tag of like 150 - 200? and you would be set bc now even a noob like me might say well its a all ready made set. toss in a stretch goal that are gift certificates to the web site to help draw in more sales and its nothing you have to make to be more out of pocket on the creator side. if the entry into the game is super basic so the newest of noobs can play would help, then have expansion packs to add extra levels of detail and completity to the game for the hard core gamers. |

Release what has been done (maybe with stock photos/art already in the portfolio) as a Basic/Prototype pdf. It will be enough to drive sales of accessories; which could continue to drive interest in the game. Reduced effort, low cost, free goodwill, free publicity, free getting the kinks out. Win win win win!
