Totally agree with the assessment on the Hascon. I took my family and they had a blast. The kid play areas and tables were a hit with my little one and all the kids we saw. This is how you build customers for life.
The exclusives were great, just the right amount to not be overwhelming. Having HasbroToyShop there was also great to buy all the stuff you saw or played with (well at least some of it). Hopefully we will get an exclusive figure or vehicle set in the future for G.I. Joe. It just killed me to see Joe not have a big presence at this convention like all the other brands. If they relaunch G.I. Joe, this will be the place to see it - with kids excitedly playing with the next generation of Joe. I'm wondering if this will always be in Providence, RI (makes sense since the corporate offices are right across the street), or will it move around different parts of the country.

Pretty much what I expected, it seems. I knew their other brands would have large presences there. Saddened to hear barely anything Joe, though. I hope someone has an epiphany or revelation soon over there, or I fear the Joes we grew up with, will follow the way of the 12 inch figures for the older generation.

Maybe they don't have a Joe line, but maybe they include Joes in a Hasbro line to expand upon the Revolutionaries set. One can dream.

This is exactly what they need to do.

Oh surely they will. Won't they? I mean, they tooled up the Visionaries, they have plenty of tooling to do MASK (other than the helmets) and they could sprinkle in a few Joes here and there. I really don't think they would have bothered with the Revolutionaries set if they didn't have some sort of plan....or maybe they just did it to gauge interest not sure. I would bet the farm that they will have something cooking in the next year. Companies generally don't fire off convention sets for S's and G's just to leave the idea to rot.

Being fortunate enough to have been born and raised in Pawtucket, I felt a responsibility to attend. I'm glad I did. I would recommend to anyone in the area that enjoys multiple Hasbro brands. It was really interesting to see the mixed crowd. I've never seen so many happy children in my life. Awesome for a family event. I haven't been to many cons. A Botcon 17 years ago, the Joecon in providence, and a Lovecraft con. This was the most fun for me. It was really easy to talk to the creators and I got to meet Susan Blu. Also, the exclusives were desirable for me. Missle Command was sold out and just as I stepped to the counter they delivered another case. There weren't a lot of reveals all around, but what was shown or teased was great.

It is odd that the most easy cross/sell to do, they have mostly strayed away from. GIJOE and Nerf are made for each other.
