How loud will the outcry be if they end up with a 100% “new tooling free set”?
It has a decent chance to end up all repaints. Maybe that was their motive for revealing after the set sold?

I like the Heat Viper. I think it looks way better than the Hasbro release of the same mold, and will hopefully use the plastic the Club has been using forever. It's about what I'd hoped for, so no complaints here.

I'm new blood around here. I only started collecting Joes last Fall. Prior to that, I hadn't touched one since the '80s. So I'm full of nostalgia and I don't know the interim history of the Club and Hasbro, which means I'm not jaded like some are here. I share the sentiment as many others here that want the 80s lineup finished in Modern Era, and see the Modern Era lineup coming so close to being complete that it would be a shame if it never did.
If there is anyone worth contacting at Hasbro, I'm willing to write or call them. If there's a Kickstarter, I'm in. If there's any way we can influence Hasbro to make it happen, I'm down. Mock me, take shots at me from the armchair of bitterness, that's fine. It's not going to change my mind or my willingness to do whatever I reasonably can (if there is anything) to help them complete what they started with the 25th line, continued with 30th and 50th, and the Club has carried forward with FSS and JoeCon sets. In the meantime, I'm glad this set brings us a couple figures closer to that goal. |

That has got to be the worst paint scheme I've ever seen.

I don't think they need motivation for that

I think that based on what we are seeing FSS 7.0, last year's Con Set, this Con Set line up that is highly probable. I also do not foresee much, if any new tooling on the other Con exclusives and FSS 8.0. From an economic perspective it is hard to blame them. I mean they are not going to invest in new tooling that will be of no use to them by year end. Also it does not seem that the repaints have negatively affected sales.
