Not for me. However, Bazooka looks like a fella at the biker bar down the street from the shop. Why does he have a Cobra helmet?

Ahh ok thanks man. I could just start a neighborhood diorama of my block. Bazooka for the biker dude, RIOT Direktor (if they make a fig of him) for the butcher at the grocer....

Once this case comes in, I think I'm going to do something that I've feared I'd have to do because I think the concept is rather silly...
I'm going to do an unboxing video. Sigh. What has my life become. |

Portable, disposable, and tiny. In the case of Funko, you can have a small collection of icons that show off your appreciation, while not feeling compelled to "collect 'em all" if you don't want to. Most folks don't have room for everything they want, but things like this remind them (and the all important "OTHER") that they still like cool things.
Just because I get it, doesn't mean I like it. With the Funko collectibles, what is it that makes people ok with just grabbing some here and there, like you said, as opposed to grabbing a Joe they find in a store? Not that anybody's going to be finding a Joe in a store any time soon, but you get what I mean. |

I'd argue a 1:18 scale figure is pretty tiny and portable... though the horror of calling a Joe figure disposable brings tears to my eyes.

Not that anybody's going to be finding a Joe in a store any time soon, but you get what I mean. Funkos are smaller than Mighty Muggs. They appeal to those who like things like Super Deformed. I like these more than Funkos, but the only one I want is Serpentress because that is the only figure of her, and she plays a huge role in the series. I am all about new characters when it comes to that. I would rather have the pin. Small, easy to display or store.

>Joe gets new product, possibly proving that the "No licensing" line from Joe con might be out the door if not a flat out lie.

Got news for you, most people view toys as disposable items. We forget that adults who collect toys aren't exactly mainstream. "Collectibles" such as this stuff and Pops are actually more mainstream. Part of that is probably due to semantics and/or perception. These aren't "toys" so that makes them acceptable for adults to buy because many adults just don't want to collect toys. Plus, as I said earlier, there's less effort involved here. You get the nostalgia and kitsch in an easy, one-stop format without the hassle and associated hassle of toy collecting. Most people just aren't as into toy/comic/geek culture properties from childhood as we are, so they're not going to expend the effort we do.
