The tampo Cobra symbol on Cobra Commander seems simplified and it did not need to be going by the officers.

Is that how the vintage figure had it? At least that seems like the most stand out interesting difference for this figure.

I'm on the fence for this set. Since I don't have room for the display.
But I'm definitely going to try for the IDW boxset.

It seems like resellers lost a major profit-center from the HTS booth with the giant price increase on the Magic cards this year, so they gravitated towards this as one of the cheaper HTS items that could be shipped cheaply as a way to maybe double their investment. But as a result of having few other options, they probably created more of an over-supply for these on eBay than Hasbro SDCC items usually have.

excellent insight. just my opinion on this but i feel it will hold it's value better in the long run, if your into it for the value, as it will still be a very limited production and supply set regardless if immediate demand is there now vs. when or if the line gets rebooted. i don't recommend anyone get it for investment sake, toy collecting is more of a passion than investment commodity when it comes to gi joe.

i decided not to open mine given it would be displayed in my basement, thinking it would soak up the moist air and warp or get soft rather quickly so just leaving it boxed with my other SDCC boxes for display (still looking for starscream crossover box only).

finally unpacked everything and one box got squashed in luggage thus parting this out. i have a buyer for the figures, anyone interested in the diorama and or box? i'll give the box away for free (pay for shipping though). it's not in terrible condition, just pushed flat on one end but still presentable given it already looks like an aged box. [all sold]

Slim chance i'll make it back to SDCC next year with my oldest son going off to college next year but if by chance i do go back, i'd like to see hisstank members do a meet and great at SDCC. there apparently several of us there but i don't recall seeing anyone much less getting the chance to chat. seems like a no-brainer to do a meet up at the hasbro booth.
