Those blues don't mean anything. That is a poll of figures, not characters. If we never get that #1, #2b and #6, people will be sorely disappointed. At least Hasbro by all accounts came very close on #1 last year, meaning it's probably still on the short list.
This poll shows why the currently shipping FSS is much more popular and well-received with 6 in the top 40 and 3 in the top 10. This FSS needed a top 10 character to not be seen as a disappointment. No Crystal Ball or Fast Draw is a big miss. The fact that Marine Dress Gung Ho is in Blue is a joke. Rock N Roll V2 is in HIGH demand and listed in Blue. That's total BS

Has it said anywhere this is the final FSS though? The licence runs through the end of 2018. That means there is 19 months remaining to do 12 months of shipping. If they push FSS 7 forward a couple months (like they have with the order period for FSS 6) they can probably squeeze in another set.
ALso there are the convention exclusives this year, and next, along with the con set, the signup figure for next year, and whatever additional sets they make (like Biggles Jones,or the female trooper 3 pack, or whatever replaces the Joe/TF crossovers). So at a total minimum 33 more figures coming (15 con set, 10 exclusives over 2 years, 1 membership figure, and lets say 5 exclusives outside FSS) Possibly as many as 46. Those won't ALL be new characters but even if they pull the 7 identical figure thing again, and do a 3 pack troop builder, that's 25-35+ new characters to be released before their licence expires. Who they are depends on tooling and selection. But there's still a decent chance on many of these. My optimism right now is very low and even lower after seeing that list.

Personal Opinion:
Sub-Zero - not on the top of my list, but the mockup looks very good. Is that a new Mortar with him? I don't recognize it... Night Stalker Commander - I feel this is unnecessary and could have been used for Munitia. Biggest miss of the set. Hardtop - everyone has wanted him for a while. I don't care eitherway. Toolbooth repaint guaranteed Crosshair - YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! About freaking time! Best New Sculpt Era figure. (Several other good ones left) Skip - Solid choice for Action Force this year. The Union Jack is a nice touch. Ghostrider - nice trick with the name. We all knew this was coming after seeing Flagg last set. Windmill - Funskol colours? Really? WHY? Heli-backpack I'm assuming is the one from the Annihilators/MattTraker. Don't mind the figure, but why those colours (second biggest miss) Rampart - About darn time. Curious to see what they do with the figure. WORMS - Worried what the helmet will look like. But should be good. Vorona - I know may will complain as its Diana under a new code name, but Its not a bad choice IMHO. Way better than Alpine, Tan Grunt, or Tiger Force Shipwreck/Airtight Guillotine - Sad we're only getting one plague member. Seems odd not to have any others. On the whole, its a solid liineup of who'se left. NO, its not the best in the world, but we have covered the most remakable characters already. Biggest ones we're still waiting on: Backstop (If you're a convention exclusive I'm gonna murder something), Fast Draw, Blizzard, Crystal Ball, Golobulus (who we likely never get), Hardball, and Recoil. All of those other than Fast Draw and Golobulus are easy to make so hopefully we see them. Also, given they're releasing this list before Joecon for the first time ever, I suspect that we'll see an FSS 7 before the club shuts down, so there's still a good shot at getting some of these. |

The more people that don't sub, the more extras they will have driving down the cost on the secondary market and increasing the likelihood of them ending up in the Club Store.
That's fine with me. I will be buying Hardtop on the secondary market. This will be my first non-sub. The real backlash will come when they start showing weak kitbashes of this weak ass lineup. Hardly any new parts and a price increase? Good luck to you Fun Flub. You're gonna need it.

Wow. This lineup SUCKS. I see one must-have in Hardtop and 2 "probably" in Sub-Zero & Dojo. Horrible. Good thing Fun Pub will be losing this license soon. They do not deserve to have it.
No Fast Draw & No Backstop pretty much guarantees that they will be attendee Con exclusives meaning non-attendees will have to shell out big bucks to fill those ARAH Holes. Simply put, screw you Fun Pub. This will be the first time I don't subscribe to an FSS and I'll be happy when you are out of business. |

A few thoughts from me:
First off I'm always glad to get more figures made and will welcome everyone in this lineup into my collection. That said, I certainly think the lineup could be stronger--especially with the looming potential threat of there not being too many more FSS's left for us to get these figures. On the cobra side I'm super excited about Guillotine--great choice to represent Cobra of the 2000s era. But where are the named Cobra Characters of the ARAH run? I believe we're down to 6 named ARAH Cobra Characters that haven't been released in M.E. We may not get them all between now and 2018 but we should have gotten at least one in this lineup (either Crystal Ball or Overlord would have made a lot of sense). The 80s Joes: These are all figures I want but given the potential that the club could end after 2018 I would have rather seen a few others above these choices. All of the 80s choices this round are vehicle drivers and I would have like to have seen one of the 80s single carded Joes make the list as I feel on average these are more desired. I personally would have dropped one of the vehicle drivers for someone like Fast Draw, Recoil, Blizzard, Hardball, or Super Trooper. Also why Hard Top before Payload? 90s Joes: Seem like solid choices. I personally was hoping we'd see Grid Iron this year, but that's just me. I think Rampart was certainly pretty high on most people's lists of 90s Joes and Dojo is key to completing the core Ninja Force team. Picking Sub Zero over Blizzard seems unfortunate although my only reason for saying that is simply because I'm thinking as if there are a limited number of FSS spots left before the end. If the club get's an extension and keeps going for additional years then Sub Zero before Blizzard is perfectly fine. For the 2000s Joes Crosshair is a no brainer. That choice makes perfect sense. I say it every year but to me troop builders make zero sense in the FSS. I would have much preferred it if they'd given the Worms in a 3 pack similar to how they handled the female cobra troopers this year. Releasing Troopers as extra club items or multipacks really seems like a win win for everyone. If the club sold these as three packs instead of single carded figures in the FSS they could sell more (thus make more money) while also satisfying their army building consumer base (which clearly they recognize as a core base otherwise why put multiples of troopers in convention sets?). Having troopers in the FSS instead of outside of the FSS seems like a terrible decision for all parties every single year and why it continues to happen really befuddles me. I'm always glad to add the international inspired figures into my collection BUT this year having two in the FSS feels like one too many. There should always be a spot for these but I feel like always having at least two per FSS every single time has been too much and this year they should have gone with just one international inspired spot.

I am not trying to just be negative here, but I do feel in my opinion that this is the weakest fss line up out of all of them.

This is my sixth time at this rodeo we call FSS...I'm not happy with the increase in price but you, me and they know I'm gonna pay it.
As for the figures...its 13 figures ultimately they fill holes in my collection. I find some choices odd...I mean honestly who saw Skip coming? But like I said ultimately it adds to my collection or fills holes in the modern collection so that's fine. |
