The eternal problem in comics: this continuity...that continuity. I would like a comic book series in the spirit of the 80's, where no one dies, everyone ejects before the vehicle is took down. I understand the main readers of the series are adults but I just cannot stand the cruelness some stories can bear, after all, G.I. Joe is a TOY line.

Boo to that.
Cartoons are for silliness. Comics are for the grit. IMO, anyways...we won't all agree.

The two memorable deaths to me in that series were Sepentor and Doc. Zartan firing an arrow in Sepentor's eye to end the Cobra civil war. Doc getting shot in the head by the SAW-Viper, for some reason that's the one I really had trouble with.

I have always felt the characters made between 82' -87' were off the chopping block as far as being killed. They are the original cartoon guys and the ones we really got to see their personality thru the comic and as I stated the cartoon. That leaves a whole lot a Joes that can me lead to Slaughter to keep the realism....sidenote..Fastdraw, Crazylegs and Sneak Peak can buy the farm lol

the scope of ARAH is that it allows larry an infinite line he can play with and write mature, serious, emotional, etc. on one end but can also write satirical, character progression, world building, etc. tons of joes including breaker, quick-kick, and doc were killed in issue 109 but 125 told of a very satirical take on evironment and drug abuse. the "mature" five issues of the old revamp, "ORIGINS" by hama is great and demented but the way in which he created it could have easily been done in arah without mature readers label. but, i know i've said this to the point that no one listens but if you really did love this continuity but are having problems with certain aspects, click my idw address down in my signature and explain what you like, don't, or what makes it boring. i bought 239 today and freakin' loved it, even though it involved some revanche stuff.

IDW's continuation of Marvel and Hama's classic continuity continues AND is utilizing more modern toys. It outsells Transformers but needs more readers and letter hacks. [email protected] re:postbox:the pit. this canon is more than a fad, let's proove it. |

That is why I do not read comics anymore, they cannot tell a story if they do not destroy something from the character. They claim that is "realism" but real people do not change status quo every month. Last edited by Patricio; 05-01-2017 at 02:09 PM.. Reason: mispellings |
