I wish I could give credence to the rumor that figures will be given out there, but I can't in good consciousness do so. The give always will be provided by the panelists.
I'll keep tabs on what suggestions are posted here (I've LOVED writing about the Plague in my last couple of novels and would jump at the chance to explore them more), but we are really trying to do something special to thank the people who attend the panel by soliciting and using their ideas. This doesn't mean we can't incorporate the ideas that are posted here, but I can't promise anything right now. Now, if zbs echoes those same requests at the panel... |

I haven't seen Sgt Humpty here in a while, but if they do decide to do a Kindleworld Figure, Lt. Flaghterly?? will be getting my vote.
I have not read Tomb of the Fallen, But I read all the Tales from Castle Destro that Don put up here and his blog. So many characters, but many are based on Tankers. Werecat666 made a bunch of customs: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...66werecat.html

Just a reminder to put the Kindle Worlds Author Panel on your JoeCon itinerary. Wes, Don, and I have been working hard to make it a special event. There will be some free swag and a special announcement on my part (if the news isn't released beforehand).
Remember that the three of us will be using audience feedback to shape the three-part story that we will be writing, so if you have a favorite character, setting, or plot point you'd like explored, bring your ideas. This is your chance to get your favorite neglected character thrust into the spotlight. As far as I know, there has never been a project of this type, so be sure to take advantage of it. The first Kindle Worlds Panel brought us the announcement of the Fan Vote. The second brought us Hasbro's stance on near-fiction and the relationship between these novels and canon. What will fans be talking about after this third panel? Be there to see. |

Please stop by Pacific Hall A at 11:00 today for the Kindle Worlds Author Panel. There will be some free swag, and we will be using the crowd's input as the basis of the 3 part story that we will write after the convention. This is your chance to get your favorite, neglected character into a work of fiction, so stop by and contribute.

I wasn't able to attend the con. Could someone there relay some suggestions from the Tankers? I'd love to see Zandar and his twin sister Zarana explored and developed more! Can someone please pass that on?

Derryl DePriest seeking a reboot and tie-in with the new TF / Bumblebee movies; suggest an 1980s time-setting. Can you confirm a time-setting (with DePriest) so our contributions to the 3-part-story can reflect accuracy to that fateful decade?
What Guardians of the Galaxy did for cassettes, Mainframe can do with a humongous laptop and 80 kilobytes of floppy disks! Maybe even Scoop with his VHS collection! Best of luck on what looks like a really fun panel. |

The panel went really well. Thank you for asking. It was really well attended (a big thanks to everyone who made it), and Wes and Don were so articulate that hopefully I came across as tolerable.
In terms of contributing, Don set up a poll on Facebook to add to and vote on the awesome ideas that we gathered. I'm functionally illiterate when it comes to Facebook and am on an iPad to boot, but you should be able to find it by searching "Bill Nedrow's G.I. Joe Novel Facebook." That'll take you to my page (like it if you haven't already). There should be a link there. I'll see if I can add a link in a few minutes. Tuskegee Joe, we didn't decide on an era, and it might come down to which characters get propelled to the front. If the really cool Cuban idea gets used, the 80s or even earlier makes tons of sense. I think I can help a little sooner, though. All of my novels are set in the early eighties. G.I. Joe: First Salvo opens in Viet Nam and has a few chapters in the seventies as Cobra is formed, but the bulk of the story takes place in 1982 (with the O14). The subsequent novels follow up right after that. Dreadnok Twins, I hope you heard the announcement that my latest novella, G.I. Joe: Buzzer, came out last week. It isn't Zandar and Zarana, but if it isn't right down your alley, I'd like to think that it is the street leading up to it. |

Hopefully, that is a link to the poll. If not, it is up at the Tales of G.I. Joe Facebook page (with a link on my page if you can't find it). |
