I got my four vehicles today from FedEx. Surprised I got them so quick as I used the cheapest shipping, which was said to take up to 5 days. Awesome any way you look at it though.
Having an extra Ghost (Sky) Hawk is a small price to pay to get the others as I really wanted to have two of them anyway and only got ahold of one when they first started coming out. Anyway, the vehicles are terrific and show obvious improvements on things that makes me even more sad Hasbro is know solely concentrating on the movie stuff. I even like the Arctic HISS. I wasn't really that interested in it in the beginning having already a few HISS tanks, but they did a few extra things to it that impressed and won me over. One of the first things we all notice is it has a missle launcher rack instead of the gun turret of old HISS. This is basically a tweaked version of the one on the Stinger as well. I'd actually question having someone in the passenger seat with those missles next to their head if it was real though. Hasbro also molded actual headlights on this HISS instead of the old headlight stickers which surprised me. They're in a light blue plastic color, which goes with the white color/arctic theme well. I was thinking the cloth tent thing attached in photos to the side of the tank was real cloth, but it's molded plastic. Also, in the box, I thought they had changed things at the last minute and switched out the tent for a large basket. Turns out the tent was on the other side from what photos and even the art on the box show. Both the basket and tent attached to the HISS similar to the attachments for the modern Armadillo tanks. Another cool thing to me, is that Hasbro included on the sticker sheet...the ability to create your own numbers for the sides of the HISS tank, including two of each number 0-9. Little things like this to me are just nice bonus that make one giddy. Go fig. The Arctic HISS driver is nice, but a bit harder to fit into the cockpit with the Snow Serpent body being used. An additional touch is a sticker inside the cockpit simulating a computer radar screen much like the Firebat has. If you have an Arctic team of Cobras though, you now have a vehicle for them to hitch a ride. Just make sure they duck if they're in the seat next to the missles when they launch. XD As for the other two sets. The Stinger is as awesome as we all hoped. Fortunately they fixed the Cobra Stinger driver's crotch to sit inside descent. With the Bazooka Trooper's vest on otherwise, it might not have been possible. Again, little added details and stuff really make the vehicle. The 2-pack set of FLAK Cannon with Outback vs. Cobra CLAW with 'Air' Viper Commando is also nice, though more so to get the figures. The FLAK seems primarily the same as it was in ARAH days with maybe some tweaking to the seat for Outback, whom has a new head and torso (of course) with Flint arms, Cobra upper legs (with flashlight attached where knife would be) and I think maybe new lower legs, though could be wrong. He comes with a gun and wears a vest instead of the more classic straps and stuff the ARAH had. However, he's a new Joe, and we definitely need more Joes, and Outback is a definite wanted one. And with the 7-pack having him in Night Force colors now, this is the way you get the normal version it seems. The red CLAW is the same CLAW we've gotten before, but with a nod to the classic ARAH Trubble Bubble in that it includes a attachable mine similar to the TB had for use as a kamikaze mini-jet. The 'Air' Viper...is a Wild Bill/Ace torso with Snow Job upper arms and hands with new lower legs, head, lower arms, and a vest attachment. Despite reuse of parts, if you didn't really look, he seems to be all new and a much appreciated new addition to the modern line of Joes. Heh... I probably should have done this on the review part of the forum, but I don't have a camera to take photos of things and I'm sure everyone would want to see. I will say though these are definite must buys for fans of the modern line. And until whom knows...the last things we'll get aside from the 7-packs for the 25th/modern line. |

cool, thanks for the review MST3kfan. I'm glad people here were able to get them. I can't wait until BBTS gets my Stinger and monopoly game this month.

Just a brief change. I thought maybe the Arctic HISS used the same missle launcher the Stinger had. Upon closer look, I see it's just got the same four missles, but the launcher is a modded version of the gunner station, replacing the gun part with the four missles pod.
I wish I could show pictures to those asking, but again...no camera. >_< The lights on the Actic HISS are nice to see rather then just a sticker. They'd probably be even better if a little paint was used to break up the grill and lights being the same light blue plastic color, but the fact they made this change...though so late into things and all. I do say again how sad it is to see these things halted for the movie now. The movie vehicles seem to have a lot of gimmicks to them compared to the classic vehicle stuff. (Night Raven/Bird for example) |

I just got my four pack this afternoon. Pretty quick delivery. I ordered these late on Wednesday night, and I received them via FedEx on Saturday afternoon.
These five vehicles are awesome. Below is a short review. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at uploading pictures, but I will give some of my thoughts on these items. The only negatives overall with the line is that the file cards for the figures and vehicles are on the bottom of the box. Therefore, it is extra thick cardboard like the new Cobra Rattler, and you have to destroy the box if you want to add the filecards to your collection. Also, the file cards for the vehicles are different from the previous 25th ann. vehicles in that the tab is on the left side, and not the right side like the previous vehicles. Cobra Stinger: I never had a ARAH stinger so I can't compare, but this bad boy is smoking. The driver has the small crotch, so you can fit it in. I was able to jam a stinger driver, from the 2nd cobra 5 pack, into the passenger side, but I don't think he will fit in the drivers side with the steering wheel. I love the missle launcher and the foot plate in the back for extra figures. There is a gun holder on the passenger side front hood that holds the drivers rifle, when he doesn't need it. The front and back headlights are red clear plastic, which makes it sweet. My one negative about this vehicle is that the driver that comes with it is called: Elite Driver Code Name: Cobra Stinger Driver. I thought he was going to be Stinger Commander. This is just a minor change that I don't like but to each his/her own. Artic HISS: Again, another quality vehicle. The blue plastic headlights is a lot better than the usual sticker. The option to put your own number on it is awesome. They only give you 2 sets of numbers 0-9 so you cannot use a number with 2 of the same digits like 788, unless you want to put 2 completely different numbers on it. The blanket is just a piece of plastic. I recommend that you keep the clear rubber band in place that holds the blanket and storage rack. If you remove it, the blanket and the storage rack tend to fall off easily. You should be able to lift up the rack and blanket holder enough to place the "Extreme Danger" sticker without having to cut the clear rubber band. The targeting system on the canopy is awesome. The Artic HISS driver is perfect. He fits just fine with some pressure on the head to get his ass in the seat. Cobra CLAW: The red CLAW is pretty much the same as the white one from the FANG/CLAW set. It has 2 bombs and 2 missiles so there are no bare missile tabs. It also comes with a camera pod as well. When you place the stickers, you will find it comes with 2 extra small black cobra decals that the directions say put anywhere you like. The Srato-Viper is as good as advertised. The only beef I have is that he comes with a small silver pistol, and he has no pistol holder on his body. Because his hands are on the CLAW when shipped, they are kind of stretched out, and he cannot hold his little pea-shooter. Also, he is titled as Cobra CLAW Pilot Code Name: Air Viper Commando. I guess they want to save the name Strato-Viper for that gimicky ROC Night Raven/Bird. We'll see what it is in the 7 pack. FLAK: Again, I didn't have the ARAH FLAK, but this is pretty basic. The legs fold underneath the main gun collumn, but I don't know why they move at all, as this gun is not mobile. I guess it would give better footing on uneven surfaces. Outback is a strong figure. His vest and removable flashlight are pretty cool. You have to get the legs bent just right to get him in the seat with the feet on the foot pedals. Once you get him in place, don't swivel the gun too fast, as he tends to fall out. He does have the small crotch though, so he should fit in other vehicles just fine. Ghost Hawk: I will not comment much on this vehicle as it has been around since January. Overall, this vehicle is a good concept, but I can't get over Lift Ticket as the driver. He should be flying a 25th ann. Tomahawk!!!. Also, his face, with that dorky smile, just doen't do it for me. I never liked the original figure, but he was easily overlooked because he came with the Tomahawk. Overall, these new vehicles are a must have for any Tanker. Sorry for no pics. I'll try to post review when someone has put in a review w/ pics. |

Because of ID theft issues, I can't use my credit cards on line. If anyone picked up an extra HISS, or Stinger and would be willing to accept PayPal, please let me know. I've also got plenty of goods in my Buy/Sell thread.
