That's not the mock up, that's the actual figure. Brian chimed in about that and the fact that they are sometimes required to use the entire figure mold
"Hi Guys, I'm jumping in to clarify that this preview is the final Big Lob figure based on available tooling at the time of production. As we've mentioned before, some occasions we are required to use entire figure molds. Thanks for the feedback, but we have no plans to reduce action figure articulation. Just remember that we must work within the existing inventory to meet production window deadlines." |

The first hand drawn/penciled/inked comic strip was The Adventures of Big Lob, which started on the back cover of the March 2010 issue of the G.I. Joe Collector's Club magazine. |

For several years, they were doing various photo dioramas/captions panels, but I'm not sure that is what you meant by comic strip.

Well, they are back to deleting any comment that doesn't tow the company line on the club forum. All I said was we are lucky they weren't forced to use the Ghost Hawk Duke mold for Big Lob.

I'm skeptical about the "required to use the entire figure mold" company line.
I think it's more of a cost cutting thing than anything. Using a different set of legs probably would have cut into their profit margin. I'm waiting until I get him in hand to decide if I can live with the legs or not. Might have to do a leg swap and paint the legs to match.

I have an extra set of 50th GH legs that I'm going to paint. I used the rest of the body already for another custom so if the legs end up scrap I'm not out anything.

Well, they have mentioned in the past that things like simply changing the color/paint scheme of a figure affects the total cost of an existing figure or considering it a "new" figure. So, there might also be something involved in particular molds being utilized in their entirety.
Jason My point is they are making it sound like Hasbro is dictating that they use the whole build. For me it just seems like they always blame someone else rather than just telling the truth. I would rather them simply say in order to meet their budget for a yearly membership figure they had to use the whole build. It's always someone else's fault. Dock strike Printer error Shipment error Software developers error Just once I'd like to hear them honestly own up to something. That isn't going to happen.
