I know he had a Sunok studios website previously. It never was built out as I recall. A logo, maybe some contact information etc. He wasn't selling toys through it as I recall. The kickstarter page is there will all of it's information. I don't find it when I do a search. I went ALL-IN on this line. If there is a problem, I want to know about it. If you know of an issue/problem or can show he isn't a solid guy, please speak up. |

I doubt the Coronavirus situation is going to help anyone dealing with China, first if it goes south and kills the planet, if they do finally contain it and all the commerce/shipping backed up, delays caused by it, deaths of factory workers, etc. Who knows what is going to happen in China as of this exact moment.

https://www.sciencenews.org/article/...inst-sars-mers The so-called "coronavirus" isn't a proper noun, nor is it a name for the specific virus we're talking about. It's really a category of virus with thousands of members, including the common cold. This particular one has been designated “2019 Novel Coronavirus" (or 2019-nCoV for short). The CDC doesn't like to name illnesses after the places that they first occurred, but screw that. I'm calling this sucker the "Wuhan Flu." From what I'm reading, it's supposedly less virulent than SARS is/was and WAY less virulent than MERS. But it's still a bit early to tell since we're getting Chinese state-media reports for the main infection site, and since the number of infected individuals is still relatively low (especially elsewhere in the world). With that said, the mortality rate so far in China has been around 4% (4% of confirmed infections, not 4% of the population) but I imagine we'll be getting a much larger sample size soon enough as the disease spreads. If it helps to calm anyone's nerves, the common cold is frequently caused by another coronavirus, just a different one. It's not like coronavirus infections are a new thing, it's just that this one particular virus normally only infects animals and has crossed over from another species (current reports are snakes, but historically most coronavirus crossovers have come from bats, apparently) into humans. This particular coronavirus sinks in deeper into lung tissue than the ones we usually see for the common cold, so you end up with lung tissue damage rather than just some sniffles. Some people who have this coronavirus apparently aren't even symptomatic until the shortness of breath occurs around 7-10 days after infection, which is the frustrating part. For some people, they'll be contagious but asymptomatic. Infected patients in the US are reportedly being given antivirals that helped fight MERS to see if that helps with this particular virus, and if that fails then the usual step is to copy antibodies from people who had the infection and fought it off (which is where the antibodies for SARS came from, for example). Bottom line, this doesn't look like an extinction situation like in the movie Outbreak at this point. If things shift dramatically, that will change the calculus. For now, however, no cause for panic. Just stay away from sick people and wash your hands. Even if you do catch it, the odds are so far about a 96% chance that you'll survive. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-...e/faq-20057907 Like most viral infections, this one is expected to spread most readily through droplets of cough/sneeze suspended in air (which can remain infectious for hours) or by direct contact with infected peoples' stuff they've touched or coughed/sneezed on (most viruses only survive 30-60 minutes or so on surfaces, shorter times on absorbent surfaces because they need moist environments to survive). If you're worried, stay away from crowds, wear a dust mask and goggles when you do have to go into crowds (Remember all of the photos from Asia during SARS? That wasn't a fashion statement.), and wash your hands thoroughly before touching your face or any broken skin and before eating, drinking, smoking, etc. Basic rules of sanitation apply. Again, this is my layman's assessment based on what I've read. Take it with however many grains of salt you wish!

[Notice of Disease] Some customers may concern the toy from China because of the disease situation currently (Locker Toys is located in Hong Kong which is still fine). Therefore, we have responsibility to let you know more about the mechanism of that virus, the new type of Coronavirus. The new type of Coronavirus* highly rely on cells of any bio host (Human being or animals). If there is no any host to carry it, it can only alive on surface of object about 12-24hrs. The figure you buy in Locker Toys come from China (actually most of figures are produced in China) but our warehouse is in Hong Kong. Then figures are stored in our warehouse over 24 hrs and the delivery time is more than 48 hrs also. As a result,no need to worry about it. No matter you are local collectors or oversea collectors. *RNA virus

From all I know, Solomon is a solid guy. There seem to be some people helping him out on a rare occasion on the PR front when he is out of pocket, but generally it's just him (except for contracting out some of the media creation). I had two personal dealings with him before this line started and didn't have issues. He did what he said he would when he said he would.

Could be he is revamping the website in anticipation of the product coming in, and having the stuff for sale, and he doesn't want to show it yet?
I've done similar stuff with my websites, but usually put up a placeholder saying website under construction or maintenance or something instead of it being just a blank page. However the blank page and the address is still there, it's not a 404 error or a place saying website name is for sale. |
