Kinda crappy of them to post people's names publicly like that. Also...you may want to consider editing your post to at least obfuscate the last names or something. I'd be pretty pissed if I was one of those people and had my name splashed all around the web because a kickstarter I backed decided post it for all to see.

I can see where you are coming from on that. I don't really look at this as being bad as all of these people have already paid so it is not like they have done anything wrong. This is just to give all of them an opportunity to respond to the backer kit so they can add stuff on or if they pledged more than the amount of their reward level..so they can distribute that money towards other figures. This is also so that friends of these people can let them know. I guess I don't see it as the same as shaming someone who has pledged and not paid. |

Go to the kickstarter page. Click community. You will see the backers.

A lot of people think nothing of it I guess, but not everyone is into over-sharing their life online. So not everyone uses their legal name on blogs, fora, or other sites and they might not appreciate their legal name being published in relation to their online shopping, investments, or donations. I think it's bad form for them to post those names like that unless, I suppose, all of those backers used their legal names as their kickstarter screen names AND Dime Novel checked to verify that before posting the names on Facebook. If someone digs in to verify that's the case then I will gladly come back to eat my words. Otherwise, that's not cool and I think I've explained well-enough why I posted my concern about it to begin with.

I agree. I assume they have everyone's email so there's no need for a public list. It's not the responsibility of this community to reach out to those people.

You will see their screen names, sure. If people choose to use their real names for that then they will be apparent to the public by their own choice. If not, then their real names are not publicly viewable. Unless of course you think "acidwormwood," "Little Mac," "Dwalin," "jabalong," "SR Ho," or, indeed, our very own "Crayfish" are those folks' real, legal names (spoiler alert: "Zap Rowsdower" is not my legal name).

It sounds like they've done all they can do. If people aren't replying or checking their emails, it's going to be their loss. That sucks but the buyers have to do their part too.
