The movie is a 2 and a half hour toy commercial as well if you think about it.
Now I don't mind a Hasbro network, but it is consuming an educational channel. Yes, this will be product placement of the highest degree. But we're kidding ourselves if we don't think that 80s/90s tv programming was nothing but half hour toy commercials. Why can't they just create their own network and leave Discovery out of it? They reused the molds of enough figures to have cut corners. |

I would SO watch that. It'll be like Beauty and the Geek, but without the beauty. Except for the female lead.

Hurm. Any ideas when we'll get Joe cartoon info? I'm guessing it'll be a while.

You just answered your own question. It's cheaper to buy/use an existing network that is already established then create a new one. I can imagine the cost and start up captial to be staggering...unless you're public access of course lol

If the movie is big, which it will likely be. Then they'll likely release a series. I'm thinking something like TF animated, but a bit more geared towards 8-12 year olds. |

Ok..once again, as always, I only skipped through the first few posts...
THIS IS A MASSIVE WIN!!! HASBRO has to have seen the "mature" audiance with Joes, Star Wars, and TF branches. Hasbro has been around long before MOST of us has been born, and they see that we have stayed by their brands. They get a full time channel to market their stuff, THEY WILL (or at least BETTER SHOULD) cater to both the younglings buying the saturday morning shist, and the Wizened old fools that STUCK BY THEIR BRANDNAMES, BOUGHT UP EVERY GOD DARN FIGURE IN MULTIPLES TO MAKE GORRAM SURE EACH AND EVERY LINE STAYS a' FLOWIN'! Daytime...kiddies, fine by me. I really don't mind, and have found some of the S6 and TF Animated rather nice ( TF: Sound And Fury. awsome Homage to old school Soundwave) Put the kids to bed and bring on some HARDCORE BALLS TO THE WALL G.I. JOE, TRANSFORMERS, Hell, bring on MASK, SilverHawks, Thundercats, Hell Bring back CAPTAIN f'N POWER...Just make it hardcore, cause THAT'S what WE want. Just like all things JOE...Hasbro... You put it out, we'll take it. Just do it fucking right by us.

My guess is that the new Transformers and G.I. Joe cartoons will be based on the film franchises, but I hope not.
How awesome would it be if we instead got Resolute-style versions of both properties? Totally awesome, that's what. |

I hope this is not going to be a Cartoon network 24/7.
