Snake-eyes was my favorite character, but I didn't have a problem with him being killed. The problem is Hama replaces him with not one but two different versions basically hedging his bets so why even bother doing it first place. The focus on Duke's back story does nothing for me, I just don't care about his wife. Now to be honest I've hated Duke from the beginning mostly due to the cartoon, Hasbro kept pushing him as the leader of the team and I knew that wasn't true. Is it irrational yes but I was eight, but ever since then I've never liked that character. To be fair he was better in comics. My main concern is the direction of the title larry was at his best when he was telling a story that was one and done, six issue story arch is something I feel he can't maintain I find myself losing interest by the fourth book because he's all over the map. The Cobra civil war was an exception but that was three issue, with a follow up in D.C.. To me it just feels like the books going no where I don't know if that's because IDW came in and said hey we need to market this in six issue increments so we can sell some trade paperback, or if Larry's just losing interest. It's a job he's taken on since 82 off and on, after you work on something that long you you inevitably get tired of it every now and then, and maybe you don't give your best effort. I still hope it gets turned around one way or another, because right now it just feels like it all sizzle and no steak.

i've been enjoying recent issues and am very happy that snake-eyes is dead. we need more casualties akin to 109-114. plus, i'm far more interested in sean's backstory than i've been with dead s.e. since the title was named g.i. joe starring SNAKE-EYES and he defeated the infamous scorpion strike. plus, i'm enjoying the more progressive plots and have not missed revanche. i still want post-2001 cobra command vipers, troops, drivers, vehicles while keeping zartan, cess-pool, etc.seperate from cobra, and playing up the two groups of m.a.r.s., cobras have always been more interesting but i love shattering the status-quo and seeing members quit, die, retire, and a continuity unafraid to take chances. CASUALTIES!!!

ryall has assured me in the past that this new "SHARED UNIVERSE" will not affect or force hama's classic G.I. JOE:A REAL AMERICAN HERO to end. he stated that arah will continue as long as hama wants to continue and as long as sales remain consistent-which they haveaccomplished every issue except those that sold even better. anybody else heard any news?

Been doing some research the highest sales on ARAH came with issue 156-15,795 copies. The next highest was issue 215-15,725 copies. The lowest point came with issue 210-6,216 copies. The most current numbers are for issue 230-7,704 copies which is more or less about the average for the title. Ranking wise it is below the sales of the top 100, but has never been ranked above the 300's.

I think GoT and Walking dead has ruined it. So much PVP, with NO distinct good or bad per say. Just favorite faction/house/character. Lets face it we were lucky to experience GI JOE in its prime, and I for one pass it along to my kids. But when GI Joe kills off Snake eyes, and TMNT kills of Donny, some things cross the line! I can still enjoy GI JOE comics, but TMNT has ended for me.

i can't put into words as to why arah is my favorite comic universe because some things drive me nuts. but i, selfishly, against all-hope, that larry can get us to issue 310 with early info that the title will be ending in a year or how they allowed furman to end tf classic in twenty final issues. i figure when hama's arah is finished, the only joe comic will be a revamp, so after waiting since 1982 to see who wins, i hope those final issues have an opportunity to tie everything up and feature a WAR that free of restraint ends the classic with casualties, battlefields, easter eggs, post-2001 designs, all-out heart attack finale and an epilogue showing the war is over and that it changed the world.

sorry, i should have clarified. i have no inside knowledge of arah ending in a year. i was just saying that when this classic continuity closes in on it's end, i would like ryall to give larry the heads up early on, so it doesn't come to an abruptly compressed ending. simon furman's marvel transformers ended at 80 but idw allowed him twenty additional issues to provide fans with a well-plotted ending to a years long war. again, just guessing, but i believe when larry is done with arah, the next g.i. joe revamp will have no continuity ties to hama's classic series, so i'd love for them to pull out alll the steps and , FINALLY, end the war between joe and cobra (and off-shoots of cobra, red shadows, and, hopefully, revanche will have been long gone by then--oh, and darklon's m.a.r.s. and destro's, etc. short version: when arah is nearing it's end, give larry the info twenty issues early, providing big FINAL global wars and tying up all those loose ends. but, idw has made the statement that arah is safe with it's current sales.
