I was disappointed in the State of the Union. We have some new characters to include a fan created and picked Stilleto. The female Cobra is nice but not the end all be all. I would think the lack of vehicles and play sets at the smaller scale would have been mentioned. I recall having a small plastic tool box of toys to take when out of the house and I always had a tower, RAM or something similar with a few figures in there. I think the schemes are a nice variety. Although I have moved to where the closest TRU is over an hour away, the thrill of the find is gone if I am only buying online now.

I can see the argument for a smaller scale because of Mask, but I think we may have already gotten a preview of 6 inch Joes with the Marvel Legends Nuke. Look at his vest and say it doesn't look like a Joe vest. Look at his head even, and tell me if the flag wasn't painted on his face he wouldn't look like Duke?

if this has already been asked and/or answered, i apologize. i've heard that the shared hasbro universe in comics will be utilizing the g.i. joe idw revamp but larry's arah will continue on it's own and not playing a part in the new era. true?

The Star Wars black line has been around for a few years and there are hardly any figures yet. Theres no C-3p0 for crying out loud. And the R2D2 is from wave 1 and worth more now. Good luck getting the wave 1 figures including Boba Fett. There is one, count-em one vehicle, the tie fighter that was $200. If GI Joe makes 6 inchers theyll likely take 7 years to build up any teams and get going.
The SIGMA 6 figures were already 6 inch scale. They had that 'The Animated Series' sorta Japan anime style meets Bruce Timm that every show runs their characters through now. Theres Transformers Animated which has the same simple look. Thats their line for kids. Its got more gimmicks and easier to grok blocky looking sculpts. They realize that in order to drive the adult collector market of the future, that they need to keep exposing kids to Transformers. So there are two different lines: Animated, for little kids. Generations/Combiner Wars/Headmasters, for adult collectors and older kids who have better motor skills and patience. By the time most kids are 13, they want sexual encounters, and toys are pretty much the biggest mood killers in the universe. So there isnt really a 15-21 demographic. I think a 6 inch scale could work for me. I like those new Mezco ONE/12 Collective figures. Especially the Star Trek ones, their Dr Spock is bang on. These little figures are 6 inches but they have material clothing costumes and really nice headsculpts that look like the actors from the 60s show. There are Marvel superheroes too, they have them at Bigbad if you want to see them. I would be very into a GI Joe line from them. Theyre about $70 though, probably not going to be mass consumed by children at the Target stores. GI Joe 3 will be the same everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach as GI Joe 2 because its going to be directed by the same guy. The problem is that when they ship two giant block skids of product to Walls Mart, the managers just put that stuff on heavy discount right away to make space. They dont care if its popular or not. They were 'channel stuffed' by Hasbro. Hasbro maintains certain key shelves in a lot of big box stores. They often make extra merch and then just go ahead and send it to the retailers even though they didnt order it. Its the same with Xboxes, during holidays they get a lot of unsolicited bundles and extra console units. At Toys R Us, their ideal customer is a mom or parents that come in every 6 months with their two kids and buy a shopping cart full of stuff. They dont have specific items they are looking for, they ask the kids what they like in the store. Toys R Us order a gajillion units of the wave one 8 figs for the heavy discount and then never get the wave 2 or 3 because it takes too long to sell the initial assortment. They dont care about helping us collect em all. So then if I have to go online to get waves 2 and 3 then why wouldnt I just do all my shopping online and skip Toys R Us altogether..? 1. I wouldn't call 40+ sw black series figures 'hardly any' 2. figures made 3 years ago of popular characters increase in value in every toy line, not sure what the point of mentioning that is. 3. the sw black series has 2 vehicles so far- a speeder bike and the tie fighter 4. the tie retailed for 169 and was/ is easily available on Amazon for as low as 80 with no tax or shipping 5. sigma six was 8" scale 6. there's zero indication that jon chu is going to have anything to do with gi joe 3- right now IMDB has dj caruso listed as the rumored director. I have a feeling that after the abysmal performance of jem and the holograms paramount's not going to want him back on joe. 7. the director of the movie has nothing to do with how much product is made for it and how it's distributed. 8. after what happened with ROC retaliation did not have 'kitchen sink approach'. sure, a lot of stuff hit clearance and maybe wasn't the best quality, but just going on numbers retaliation didn't have NEAR the amount of product ROC had. it would only stand to reason that, especially considering the current state of brand, that gi joe 3 would put out even less product initially than either of the previous 2 movies did.

A new breath story telling would be good.
I like the idea.
