What? Scarlett and Ripcord? Dang Scarlett's kinda whorish. Who hasn't she been with? Maybe that's why she's on the team...she good for morale.

Well, I never saw that so I can't pass judgment... just like I won't pre-judge a movie that hasn't been released yet. I thought he did a good job in "Requiem"...

You may want to check your facts before posting next time. Angels & Demons ONLY beat Star Trek on the day of it's release, Friday. Star Trek went back to number 1 on saturday and has continued in that spot since then. So it's been #1 every day of it's release except 1. That's very impressive nowadays.
By the way, you do realize you're on a board that talks about G.I.Joe toys and you have almost 900 posts right? Do you really think you're in a position to call any other group of fans "geeks with all their toys"? I don't think so... Sallah As far as the geek thing, hate to burst your bubble but I am not the only one in the country who believes most ST fans are complete geeks. Say what you will about this site and the people who post here but most are actually very cool people and certainly not folks I would classify as "geeks". The same cannot be said of most of the Star Trek fans out there I've seen over the years. They usually validate everything the general public says about them and then some. Now please, can we get back on topic. Marlon Wayans or some such bs. |

You're saying this like I care. My point here was that ST was only able to hold onto #1 for one weekend before it was toppled by a movie that was barely advertised or marketed. That makes things look a little bleak for GI Joe's second weekend if this trend continues all Summer.

Besides you're just ignoring what sallah said about ST regaining its #1 spot after the first night A&D was released. A&D / Divinci Code is a popular property, and a lot of people went to see it. But, since it was such a bad movie, it didn't last at #1 for more than a day. So really, no matter if you care or not, you're ignoring the fact that except for 1 day, ST is still #1. I don't give a damn about ST fans or any fans for that matter. Hell, I love GI Joe, but many, especially on this board, just rub me the wrong way.

Ripcord was white. Did they cast Marlon Wayans as Ripcord in the movie so there could be some inter-racial undertones with Scarlet? WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! The Wayans brothers suck ass. Its cool the other brother is a Christian and has been on TBN thats great but I dont see him trying to play a white guy in a GI Joe movie. Holywood....stop screwing up things from my childhood or I will create another Manson family and your upins will come!

It's obvious that you don't like me and, quite frankly, I don't give a damn about you. So perhaps it would be best if we just ignore one another from now on. If we do that then maybe, just maybe, these threads will stay on topic. I mean, I am sure folks clicked on a thread about Marlon Wayans hoping to read a debate about about most ST fans being geeks or what does and does not have a place in my world. We could have deprived them of this and forced them to read about Marlon Wayans as Ripcord if we had just ignored one another from the start. So, how about it, let's try that from now on. Ok? |

Now please, can we get back on topic. Marlon Wayans or some such bs. Second, again with the blatant mistakes? Trek was able to hold on to number #1 for (make sure you read it this time okay...I'll try and go slow so I don't lose you) EVERY DAY OF IT'S RELEASE BUT 1, not 'one weekend' as you keep erroneously spewing out. The ONLY day it wasn't number one was the day of Angels Vs. Demons release, a high profile sequel to the Da Vinci Code which grossed over $200 million in domestic ticket sales alone. Angels Vs Demons only managed to edge Trek out by a around $5 million on the day of it's release. To put that in perspective, on the day Trek premiered it beat Wolverine into the second spot by around $22 million dollars. Oh, and then Trek went right back to number 1 THE NEXT DAY. Did you catch it all that time or did I go too fast for you? Third, Angels Vs Demons wasn't made for kiddies, so you may not have seen any ads on the programs you watch, judging by your intelligence shown in this thread. Just because you didn't see it doesn't mean it wasn't there. Finally, I happen to be a Joe fan and a Trek fan and I can honestly say that both communities have equal eccentricities. It's the condescending, immature attitudes and views that you hold that are NOT the norm in either group. I've not met many fans in either group that would cast stones at another fan group like you are. It's the pot and the kettle man, and you just keep perpetuating it.
