I believe the pricepoint for the Pitt was actually closer to $100 than $150, but I could be mistaken.

It never was on my list to buy but if its the same size as the BMF then I doubt many stores will even have it due to the BMF still sitting there catching dust

The BMF didn't have any movies in theaters or shows on television making it "new" or particularly exciting for the kiddies. It was pretty much aimed squarely at adult collectors. Interestingly, the Clone Wars toys sold VERY well during the holidays, but the Legacy Collection (the adult collector-oriented line) lagged significantly behind. Quote:

The same happened to Batman, Spiderman, superman, xmen, Hulk. See the pattern? Generally, Hasbro's releases hit about one month before the film. Better to have stuff already on-shelves when the movie comes out than trying to play "catch up." |

The BMF came out at the same time, but was not supported by any current media. The AT-TE sold briskly by comparison, and was heavily featured in the Clone Wars movie/cartoon.

I hope that this is a hit. I don't want one myself but down the road they may make something in this scale that I may want. Like a new Terror Drome. If the PIT does just sit and gather dust. We wont seen anything this big again.. (and I can't afford a vintage Terror Drome that's in great shape.)

The original 80's Joe HQ Command Center stomps the donkey shit out of the Pit.
I'd much rather buy it or say a Cobra Mountain playset repaint over this. |
