You fail to contradict any of my points. You're paying $20 apiece (plus shipping) for something that should be $12 at most, and is essentially the same three or four figures with new heads and accessories. If that's what you like, more power to you. I can count probably at least 20 new sculpts in the RoC-era stuff that we've seen so far. I can count...4 in the MotUC line (He-Man/Man-at-Arms/Tri-klops, Skeletor/Zodac/Mer-Man/Hordak, Beast Man/Stratos, and Teela/Evil-Lyn). Mattel has flat-out admitted that heavy parts reuse is the only way they can afford to keep the line going, so I'd be expecting Moss Man and Stinkor soon.
MOTUC is a pathetically small line in terms of number of figures produced (5,000 - 10k of each character, if I'm not mistaken), which makes it really easy to sell out quickly. Just like 25A Joe when it first showed up and no one could find it anywhere...it's not because there are millions of people clamoring for it...it's because there wasn't that much being produced to begin with. Trying to compare a purely collector-targeted exclusive line to a mass-retail line is a false analogy to begin with, anyhow. bottom line-all toys are over-priced and if we like them, we pay the price! Hasbro does not care what we collectors really want as you can tell by the half-ass answers and the run-around |

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this already in the previous 14 pages but one of the questions/answers from Fwoosh is actually a little misleading. Here is the question and answer:
2. Was there a reason that Wetsuit's helmet was not included in the upcoming seven-pack set? Or will it actually be included in the set and is just not pictured? H: Wetsuit's breathing mask is included in the set. The actual answer should be: No, Wetsuit's helmet is not included in this set b/c this figure was actually the Scuba Duke figure that was supposed to be in one of the comic packs that got cancelled and later repainted and changed to Wetsuit for the 7pk so a new helmet was never made for him since it was last minute.

Here is the recipie for Footloose so don;t get too excited-
Head- Gungho/Cutter Helmet- Bazooka Rocket Launcher- bazooka M-16- Airborne Body- Rock n Roll from 2pk comic set Done... As for the pack for TRU, maybe it's a night watch pack with that Night Watch Falcon? I am not a huge fan of Night Watch so I dont really care but maybe its a 5 pack of em or a Officer 3 pk... The economy sucked before the movie that is not cause for them to hold us under the gun and at ransome if and hwne it fails. I can see everything they are holding on to see where the movie goes including the Alley Vipers. Pfft might as well kiss all of those 7-pks good buy, thanks Hasbro you have really fucked up this time...buy a ticket or else! HAHA morons....fuck that |

I DO NOT WANT CLASSIC GUYS IN GRAY AND BLACK COLORS!!!!!!...I could care less about the movie and repaint figures...That movie line should tie into the classic Joes...NOT the other way around!!! That movie will NOT help the sales for the G.I.Joe line. It saddens me that they killed the 25th/Modern line.

This seems like one of the more candid and informative Q&As in a while (maybe just more questions?). Thanks Hasbro!

I don't understand the infantile "Hasbro doesn't care about us" mentality. They host Q&As, and attempt to answer as best they can in a corporate world. The fact that GI Joe Anniversary line even exists shows us that Hasbro does care about collectors.
Focusing on the movie is just good, and OBVIOUS, business. If we get some classic-themed multi-packs a few times a year, we'll be doing quite good...as classic-styled collectors. The 2 7-packs equate to about 3 waves of singles, which is around 6 months of product. Also, we're getting vehicle pack-ins (like Thunder), 2packs (via Walmart) and whatever TRU, Target, and K-Mart exclusives there are. We know Footloose is in one of those TRU multipacks which should give some people a hint that the exclusives might be more oriented to the classic styling. Hasbro does take into account what collectors want (hence modifications they make to figures based on feedback...like the adjusted diaper crotches), but they also have to try and attract kid and mainstream attention which the movie will bring in. Are some of us so xenophobic about GI Joe that we don't want new fans from a new generation to inherit the brand? |

http://www.hisstank.com/forum/713423-post236.html http://www.hisstank.com/forum/703398-post70.html It just troubles me, we made 29 pages of suggestions, and it boils down to the question that one guy (basically) makes... What gives?
