never thought id say this....
flint may be the only one worth a crap in that wave. cobra commander...dont need a stripe baroness...one was more than enough cobra trooper...yawn-nother one? roadblock...never liked that look bludd...disappointing if thats the final...i will get him cuz hes bludd, but i will be spitting the whole time. wanted something a tad more unique for sebastian. snow bunny snake...maybe...depends on how he looks in person....not looking to add to the snake eyes army though. flint...looks good...but another flint in my display....not likely. |

OK! Major Budd is a Major Dissapointment. But it's OK. This Wave, At least Flint has gloves - bravo. I probably go with Flint and Major Bludd.

During the last Q and A session hasbro said they were going to release an all-black version of Snake Eyes v.2 in wave 4 (they typed 2007 but I assumed they meant 2008 as wave 4 of '07 was simply the single-carded figures from the five packs). Doesn't look like we're getting that version of SE after all, though I would have preferred it to the Snow-Suit Snake Eyes we're getting (say that five times fast).

Before you get too carried away about 'hey there's no new figures/ these are repaints etc...'
I can't stress enough that the creation of the tooling for these figures takes alot of time. Let me stress that again. Having worked in the injection molding industry for 5 years, including a facility that creates the tooling (from the concept to engineering to the actual cutting of the steel to running the test shots, color testing, stress testing etc...) I can tell you that the rate that these figures are coming out is very fast and Hasbro must be freaking out trying to figure out what to do to meet OUR demands. Give them some time to catch up to the renewed phenomenon of GI Joe. And just for perspective remember when we use to get 1 wave per year? (say 1983 for example with a whopping 16 figures. 3 of which were repaints) Last edited by facehammer; 01-24-2008 at 05:27 PM.. |

Ok i must say my feelings on this wave. I am a huge fan of this anniversary line having already bought more than 200 figures. I army build for the first time! I loved most of what has come out so far, with the exception of probably serpentor and lady jay. But i still like them alright. Each wave has been almost better than the last. Wave 5 was just incredible. Now having said that this wave just kinda made me feel like what?!? The flint ok we needed an improvement but i would have rathered the same one with the fixes. The snake eyes is prett cool since we are going to get him all the time no prob. Now the rest. Major bludd?? Major disapointment!! i mean come on a major character and almost a total repaint?? I'm very surprised by this. Baroness, absoulte crap. sorry. The officer python patrol? Why? Can we make some other characters first please?? I would rather have the regular officer back. Well that is all for my venting. I love this line and i hope to god this is only a freak wave and we get back to what we were getting after this.

So many other figs they could make instead of PP officer, Baroness in ugly blue uniform, and CC with stripe. C'mon Hasbro, give us some NEW figs.

On gijoeclub.com there are larger pictures available and Major Bludd's face is censored out! |

I hope all this hate for the new wave means I won't have as hard a time finding them in the store.
