What an uninspiring wave. A whole wave of repaints risks putting this line in MOTU 2002 territory, especially when kids aren't buying these.
CobraCoffee has it exactly right. And please no more Cobra officer repaints. I hope the mold crumbles to sand after this.

No, it isn't, and no, they're not. Hell, they fixed Flint's arms in exactly the manner people had been bitching for since he was released. Hell, since the first pictures were out. And is anybody happy? Does Hasbro get any credit? No. Hasbro can't win, no matter what they do. Keep the figures coming, Hasbro, please. No more truth has been better spoken in this thread. Please people, I know we collect toys as a hobby but do we have to act like children while doing so? |

And they will still sell out the second they hit the shelf.

I agree that "Nail in the Coffin" might be a bit over the top, but the worries are legit. Nobody wants to see the line end, that's all.

Why don't they make playsets from episodes from the cartoon. Such as a Weather Dominator playset or have it in pieces like build a figure concept. or have build a figure with the Water Robots from the pyramid of darkness, or the Giant Cobra robot from the Revenge of Cobra mini series(Weather Dominator) there are tons of original ideas other than re-hashing the hell out of Snake Eyes and other repaints. I don't need a Tiger Force Flint, that is from the new school crap of gi joe when the toy became total crap. I want the original figures from 82-85. then all the new school junk can be made for the fans of it.
but I will buy all the stuff because I am an anal completist. which sucks for me, i can't control it. whatever the 25th anniv line puts out I will buy it. thats why I will have all 20+ versions of snakeyes when it is all said and done. ps didn't hasbro say 24 single figures this year???? I agree that this is most likely a filler wave, and it will sell out just as quick as wave 4 of last year did(also a filler wave to me). What hasbro is doing is pushing out all the characters that the minority of GI Joe collectors want. That is fine, I believe this line will continue well beyond next year. So I'm not worried that we aren't getting a snow serpent or Blowtorch now, it's just a matter of time that we will.
I'm praying that by toyfair next month, we will see characters that majority of us want and our faith in Hasbro will be renewed. |
