Are these identical starter decks, or is each one random? Huge fan of card games, and I love the artwork

I wasn't doing CCGs when this came out, but recently I've been kicking myself that I never picked these up. To me, getting a chance to see all those great Joe and Cobra vehicles against each other in a card game looks like an awful lot of fun.
That being said, if Hasbro were to revive this today I'd prefer it if they produced a living card game or a deck building game. I've been playing quite a few of those recently and I really enjoy buying a single box that has a full and rich game experience right from the start. When those types of games first started showing up I had gotten really burned out by the "collectable" aspect of CCGs, and now that I know that there's a viable alternative, I deeply despise the whole CCG sales model.

They are identical, however you would receive a play set x4 of the Foil Cobra Commander Special and x4 Duke Foil Special. Both are very powerful cards in the game. You would also get 6 booster packs with 10 random cards per pack if you bust open all 6 boxes. For that price you can't beat it. I'm shocked these are still up for sale.

I remember rumors back in the day that Hasbro was REALLY big into supporting this game until a management change resulted in Sigma Six.
Supposedly there were plans for packing cards in the GI Joe Robot Rebellion toys in support of this (kind of like what they originally planned for Transformers Armada, whose game was never completed in time for the toyline)

In order for the game to be profitable there needs to be booster packs. But i'm all for pre-built decks right out of the box for casual players much like the ones sold for MTG.

I would play a GI JOE version of the DC card building game in a heartbeat. Almost bought this at a card shop near me back in April. Maybe the next time I see it.

I remember getting these. The hardest card to get (so it seemed at the time) was the foil Stormshadow. It was the last card for the entire set I needed. I bought several packs, cracked them open one by one, nothing. Down to the last pack, shuffling through to the very last card.... holy crap it was the foil Stormshadow! It was a great victory at the time. I still have the full set.

Something similar to the Star Wars CCG (but perhaps less complicated) would be pretty cool for the Joeverse.
