Wow I just don't get peoples negativity towards this Jet . Yes its New and it has a handle under it (retractable ) But In all Fairness if they rereleased the Raven mold for the Film you would have people complaining that it doesn't fit with the films image . others complaining about the Price of the night raven . as this is a smaller jet but similar to be one they were able to not charge a extortionist price for it . if they were to reuse the mold for the Raven your prob looking at $90 to $110 a pop for a Jet that was released years ago for less (ok I don't know the retail on the raven when it was first released) not to mention the fact that it can't hold the 2 ,25th figures so again another redesign would be called for. for me I really like this jet and will give it a shot when it comes available.
tbh you guys that don't like it that much should really be happy that Hasbro even made something as a homage to that ultra cool night raven |

that look awsome but I don't think as you said I could bring myself to half a night raven . lol

And if your really wanting to change it up a bit you can take the front and meld it with the original (however I don't think I could bring myself to cut the front off an original just to try it) looks good on paper and I think I will leave it that way LOL. It is a good way to get away from it's bird butt though and the lights and silly firing missiles and handle...

Firing Missiles: Seriously? People are complaining that a jet shoots missiles? If your Skystriker, Rattler, Night Raven et al... launched its' own missiles when you were a kid, you'd have crapped yourselves with joy and ran around shooting your parents/siblings/pets all day, while pressing the button that makes the "Whoosh-Boom" noise right along with it (if it didn't automatically make it when you fired the missiles).

I do agree that it's not a very realistic place for them, but then again...we haven't seen the movie yet, either. That may be exactly where they launch from on-film. |

I'd still rather have the classic Night Raven, as I know everyone else would, but I still like this. I'm planning on buying three.

Plus: No electronics in the originals. No doubt this will bring about the refrain of "We don't need no stinkin' kiddy crap electronics!" but regardless, they add to the cost of the vehicle. |

Is it me, or does this plane closely resemble the one Clint Eastwood flew in 'Fire Fox'? The Raven was far better than this.

I think the new Night Raven/Bird looks cool. Sure, it's not as huge as the original. Fine with me. I don't think the size difference will be that grand.
Some people think it's not very realistic in design? Guess what? The original had a drone vehicle atttached to it which would negate its ability to maneuver. Regarding lights and sounds. Looks like they don't add a lot of thickness to it. It still looks pretty sleek. Someone mentioned liking it better if those features were removed. Why? It's still going to have the same mold without the internal electronics. Why remove them? Regarding electronics in Joe vehicles. I hated Sound Attack (just lamely executed). However, I love the Thunderwing. It's a great TOY. The sound effects in it are awesome. It responds to how you tilt it. Sure, it was a little squishy in design, but the NR/B doesn't seem to suffer from that malady. If it's similar to the Thunderwing in terms of playability, I'll be very happy. I know some collectors are wanting a rerelease of the original NR. Does its mold even still exist in-tact? Also, retailers might not be willing to order it. It would be in a very large box (the plane doesn't really break down length-wise). Stores might not be wanting to allocate such a large amount of shelf-space to a toy which in actuality might have a limited audience. The movie NR at least has a movie to help sell it. |
