I like this response, in my experience any time some one uses it they know they are going to deliver soon. I say that wen I KNOW I am right.

I have a few more customs I want to make, but other than that I think I am done with this part of Joe. Going forward I will be character focused, and only get figures based on my top 10 or so characters or troops. No more army building and no more line-wide collecting. No matter the size or form the Joes take on...
they can make hyper-detailed 12 inch or 6 inch Joes...or 2.5 inch ones...doesn't matter it will just be a limited segment of characters I'm willing to buy. I am severely burned out on the collecting aspect of toys, and no longer enjoy it...the less I have the more I seem to enjoy it anymore. I think being character focused will help my sanity with the whole thing, and make me happier and more content.

Ugh, I just watched the interview video at Joecon with the "gentlemen" who are leading the Joe team..... Wow, that guy in the flower shirt is gonna kill GI Joe, but He's gonna save Kreo. That's for sure. I hate political jargon and dancing around questions... such as the question about the coming cartoon, or what channel will it be on ect... This guy has got to be worse than the smose running those big box retail stores (you know the "blue ones"). really? Neither guy listens to the fans and neither really gets it? Oh well. Its been a great run. At least we have the dvd's and we'll be able to find our classic stuff on ebay when they start throwing the weird Hawaiian shirt joes at us. LOL. These two are not down to earth imho, but business men. That's ok from the busness side but Hasbro is blowing it here.

I didn't get a chance to read all the comments, so I apologize in advance if I repeat already stated opinions. GI Joe for Kids!! GI JOES to PLAY WITH!! THAT IS SO 1960's, 70's, 80's, 90's and early 2000's...and I love IT! My teen age son says he would like GI Joe's more if they were affordable and offered more then just the same characters all the time. Some of my favorite characters were mostly toy based and rarely if ever scene in the cartoons and comics.
Make the line fun again, appeal to kids and have some things for the adults as well. I am not a supporter of a 5 POA figure, but sending it back to the 10(?) POA that the ARAH figures had would be nice...or going slightly further then that is great too. Cartoon? PLEASE! Do make the bad guys a little more serious, but still keep it fun. My kids like Sunbow, dic, and even Sigma 6 and Renegades. And all had a balance of seriousness and fun. Bottom line for me, bring back the fun, inspire imagination, keep the toys fun and versatile, and amke characters that are rarely seen in media but make for a fun toy, like for example, Barricade was a fun JOE figure in original blue and gold form and in the venom squad form, but I have rarely seen Barricade in media...so that meant, I got to develop his character while playing with him...WHOA! BRING BACK THE FUN!!! BRING BACK THE JOEs!!! BRING ME A HAM SANDWICH!! |

I rarely post or discuss the destiny of the joe brand anymore, I keep it to my own and others customs, so I will probably be ignored , but ... while I agree the comics could be a good way to release new products, and a new kids directed cartoon is essential, FOR SOME TIME I HAVE WONDERED WHY THERE'S NO GI-JOE 1ST PERSON SHOOTER VIDEO GAME! One really well made, using the best the genre has to offer. Wouldn't it be something to shoot some vipers as Gung-HO? Slash some ninjas and face Storm Shadow as Snake Eyes?
The great Games produce more profit than many holywood "blockbusters" and in my opinion are 1st rate market for gamers and nerds, who also collect action figures. I really don't understand how this has been ignored so far... |

The truth is that the movies killed any momentum that the line had with collectors: blocking desirable product with a new line, then clogging pegs with undesirable product, and then blocking distribution opportunities when the good product came again, then repeat for the sequel. They alienated the hardcore fans, who had to explain to all their casual-fan friends why the movies turned out so insane and suxxis.
So now, the brand is on hold until the new movie can decide what it wants to be. But without any sense of what the collectors want, and what will drive new fans, (and some stink of "Rex" and the all-dead cast of Joes & Destro) the new movie will never leave the starting gate. So there is a catch-22 that may forestall any new direction for Joe beyond the 2016 projections. A sure-fire hit at retail would be releasing ARAH-style figs and packaging in stores. Hasbro has ceded that opportunity to the club, though. I have a 4-year old boy and a 6-year old boy. Just one season of Rebels has them bugging me for Star Wars like crazy. They are your audience, Hasbro! Your window to capture them is closing! I challenge you to make some media/product so that they will bug me for G.I. Joes! This I COMMMAND! |
