Pretty positive news and it sounds like Mark Weber was brought over to pump up the Joe brand. Glad to hear Hasbro is giving Joe another shot. Star Wars. Marvel, and TF all have adult collector lines along side lines geared more towards children. 5PoA is fine for the kids as long as the Club keeps putting out FSS with modern articulation. We can still collect the vehicles from mass retail anyway. I'd love to be able to mix and match myself.
I just hope that IF the Club does put out the remaining CV figures that they offer troop builder packs for Cobra Troops like the Officer, Televiper etc. I would like a few of each but not if I need to buy 5 subs to get them. I am really enjoying the FSS but they are a little tough on troop builders. I hope Hasbro loosens the reins on the Club as far as parts and paint aps go so the Club can really develop some great modern renditions of the remaining ARAH line up. I'll keep buying the comics.

I'm ok with this but the Collectors club is going to need to figure out a way to lower the prices on the figures they put out.

I don't collect 3.75 anymore but I'm a hardcore Kre-o collector. Hasbro needs to launch a Kre-o animated series. IMO this will open up GI Joe and the other Kre-o themes to kids and will help promote this brand. The Lego Movie helped make Lego the #1 company passing Porsche. Which shows that in order to push sales a show/movie geared toward kids and enjoyable for adults need to be shown along side the product. It seems like every toy company wants a piece of the Block pie.
I don't think that GI Joe the movie 3 will help the franchise unless they relaunch it. IMO the other 2 movies were horrible and didn't do GI Joe as a whole any justice. They need to show GI Joe as a massive unit aimed at defending against a huge Cobra army. Killing off everyone and making the story so that The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) is the main focus cause he is a big star is not the only at to do a GI Joe movie. It great news that Hasbro is going to focus on bringing GI Joe back, even if it's going to be geared toward kids.

Hasbro needs to get something out there "for the kids" and I totally agree that a Robot Chicken styled animated series would go off well. They could even keep it comedy centered and light-hearted like the cartoon network's most recent rendition of Teen Titans. Animating a series like this should make the kids want to have fully articulated figures and limit the need for a 5 POA line.
If they do make a 5 POA line, I ask that Hasbro keep the head/neck articulation the same so customizers can use any new head sculpts for their customs. I also ask that Hasbro release a fully articulated ARAH inspired army builder with each new wave of 5 POA figures. They should pack 3-4x more of this figure per case. That way people can still army build. Otherwise, the days of army building will die, especially if I have to pay $31-$50 per ARAH figure now. Sorry but I don't read comics, but I like the idea of the mobile game. Maybe if they do it right, it can blow up like some of the other mobile games out there (I can't remember the game where the commercial features the big boobed queen/empress). Maybe they make a Call of Duty styled game but for a mobile platform (sorry if this exists already). Given that the first 2 movies were so bad, I hope GI Joe 3 is a complete story reset that develops the characters enough to make us want to care about them this time. Overall, I like the new effort in GI Joe from Hasbro, I just think they could preserve a fully articulated line by making a few tweaks here and there.

Unless everyone in the community subbed, I don't see how that's possible. It doesn't look like their engine will be stopping any time soon either. The only thing that could compete are third party figures based of Joe (like transformers). That also isn't very likely though.

I don't think they're going to 5 POA. At the panel they were bragging that the new Night Fox wasn't crappy like the previous ones. 5 POA would be death I think. G.I. Joe worked with us as kids because they were more fun to play with than Kenner figures. The Joe characters aren't like Star Wars or Marvel where they're so embedded in people's minds that people will buy a crappy toy just to get the character.

This is good news. Speaking as the parent of a boy who loves GI Joe just like his Dad, he will love toys targeted for him (like the 80s and 90s ARAH) rather than the modern figures where the guns don't stay on during play. I've said it again and again, if GI Joe is going to succeed, they need to target the young kids with a figure that can withstand play. Go back to the ARAH style that was popular in the 80s and brought back in the early 2000s. Those are the toys my 8 year loves to play with, the modern ones just fall apart and stay in a box.

How's does everybody feel about the current Marvel 2.5 inch line that is clearly produced for the kids market?
