My thoughts:
Snake-Eyes: A lot of people complain about the number of SE figures, but I don't mind at all as long as they aren't straight up re-paints. This figure rocks and I love him! Duke: A lot of people complain about the number of Duke figures, but I don't mind at all as long as they aren't straight up re-paints and have giant flags. This figure rocks and I love him! H.I.S.S. Driver: Now I can chuck those ugly Cobra Trooper figures that will come with the Target exclusive HISS. This figure rocks and I love him! Wild Bill: I love the pearl handled revolvers. This figure rocks and I love him! Spirit: Looks great and has removable clips! This figure rocks and I love him! Viper: My #1 all-time favorite Cobra figure ever gets stellar 25A treatment! I don't even miss the goggles. I want to troop-build the heck out of this guy! This figure rocks and I love him! |

(blackhawk? little bird? apache? cobra?) BTW, I just want to state emphatically that I think Hasbro re-using 80's molds for Joe vehicles from that era w/zero updates, and re-releasing them today for use with the 25th Joes is just plain lazy! It's like re-issuing a beloved car from a bygone era with zero updated ammenities and accoutered the same as it would have been in that era! There's something to be said for taking a little of the old and a little of the new to create a synthesis that works more for a more modernized world. Simply re-issuing the same old thing seems....well, unlike the 'turning over a new leaf' that I sense from Hasbro in 2008. In other words (and sorry for the soapbox rant here), it's fine to see these bygone era vehicles, but update the designs or do something to spice them up a bit, please! Make it worthwhile for me to re-buy a vehicle I'd long since parted with as I said goodbye to my childhood. |

I think the "SE V4" tag is because it is the 4th version in the 25th line. Boxed set/Single card/comic pack/wave 3 '08......

Well I know lots of folks aren't big SE fans and don't like how he is in every but I think it's almost certain that we will see at least two more versions of him.
IMHO we will see the 91 v 4 and the 93 Ninja Force version as well......there's really no need to go beyond that with the 2000 relaunch and on, but he is SE so we could see those versions as well, but I really think 2 more (mentioned above) will be made for sure. I like all of them(well Duke is kinda blah, but love the accessories) and already placed a pre-order so at least I know if I don't find them out and about I will at least be getting one of them!!! |

I have to say the more I see of SE the more I really like him. I'm not sure its the near perfection of SE V23, but its darn close. Of course they've got his knives on upside down...

I love that Snake Eyes. That was the first version of Snake Eyes that I had as a kid.
Viper doesn't look right without the goggles, what do you think the odds are that they will be added? Flash had smooth pads when the pics first surfaced so I'm holding out hope that the goggles will be added. I'll be buying that duke for the accessories. I feel as though the Hiss Driver's head is a bit off.. I'll still be grabbing one for every hiss I own though. Spirit and WildBill look good, I was never a huge fan of either character but I will still get both. I just wish we'd get EELs and SnowSerpents to fight our Torpedo and SnowJob...... |
