A new podcast called "Nerdrahtio" has just been launched, one of their first subjects is an interview with Sam Wells, former DDP writer who wrote Special Mission: Brazil and contributed to filecards from the oft-ignored "new sculpt era".
One of the things he's sharing is a character poster from the Joe vs Cobra days, which not only includes package art, but a number of earlier "profile shots" for figures stretching from the line's launch until its untimely end and rework into the ill-fated Direct to Consumer line. Of note are MANY characters and concepts which were left unreleased Sam Wells shares NEW unreleased characters and designs from G.I.Joe in our first new podcast episode! | NERDRAHTIO There is also an earlier interview where he discusses his work at DDP: Nerdrahtio interviews Sam Wells, former DDP Staff and G.I.Joe Writer | NERDRAHTIO

Some great stuff here. Loved the look at the unreleased figures, the females especially stand out. Its a shame we never got that Zanya, she looks pretty awesome. I liked the 7 pack version but she looks so old, this one seems like a better representation of the character.
Zarana is interesting but never getting this version is not really a big deal. It doesn't really appeal to me any more or any less than the version we got back around that time. Cadet Bombshell is interesting. I think I prefer the version we got a lot more. This one would have been ok but she's kinda tomb raider and not a fan of the little bit of black hair in the front. Whatever it is on her arm is not missed on the actual figure. Tattoos, robotics, whatever...glad they ditched it. Jinx is another interesting design. Kinda like Zarana, I don't prefer it any more or less than the Jinx released. Obsessed with that green ninja. I don't think she's another Jinx but who knows, to me she is a new evil character. Charm works for a name. Need her now. I love new unreleased female characters so this one is my favorite on the poster here. I want more information and the club should start working on a figure of her asap, thanks. Road Pig, Serpentor, Tomax and Xamot would have been fun figures too, shame we didn't get them. Would have liked to see Mayday or Firewall but I guess it doesn't really matter anyway, although it might have been nice to know those two were planned for figures or more on the radar. Great podcast with lots of info and some nice unreleased figures and some new characters too. Love that "Charm" character. |

Sad to see this thread didn't really take off, I was hoping the green ninja Charm character could work up enough support to eventually become a reality.
