I'd say more like $14.99 like the rest of the small 25th Anniversary Vehicles.

I was initially pretty excited for this, but the one seat action is a big turn-off. No room for Airborne?!

Why is it Hasbro could only make cool large vehicles in the 80's but now in the year 2009 we get these usually terribly designed, always small, pieces of junk. Placing that next to the original Dragon fly will show how bad it really is. I'm sorry but I just can't wrap my head around the fact that Hasbro can't make anything good after 1986 (a few good things here and there aside).

You are probably right (big surprise there!), but its hard to justify almost double (well, 1.5) the cost for this. I dunno, I don't see these flying off shelves @ $24.99. The Rattler/Conquest's were a much better deal.

Let me see if I can delve into the mind of Hasbro.
Hasbro executive, "The economy is in the tank, production costs are significantly higher, the dollar isn't worth as much as it once was and to top it all off product demand is down. Week sales mean less profit but we can't increase demand with-out a good product that is desired. I know what to do, lets hire some less than stellar designers, and cut production costs by making toys 1/3 smaller while charging 1/3rd as much. We can easily recoup our costs that way and no one will care because we are giving them new products. With less cost outlay we will make a larger profit margin there for gaurantying share holder value. Oh that little part of decreasing size who will ever notice that?" Ok that said, the real sad fact is that this is the wave of the future it seems.

Yeah, you are probably pretty darn close.
Where are the marketing guys?! Design appeal is what sells! Grr.
