Yeah, you're crazy! LOL Seriously, just look at Wild Bill, standing right next to the tail rotor for scale. He looks over the top of the tail rotor pylon, which is generally the tallest part of a helicopter. It almost looks like the figure will tower over the entire helicopter, which makes it way undersized. I don't mind Joe vehicles being undersized, as long as it is not excessive, like this is. I also don't mind them changing it up and using an Apache for the Dragonfly, since the Cobra gunship has been retired from the active Army for quite a few years now. But I don't want something that is so half-assed. All that said, I might get it just so I can donate it's rotor hub to the Cobra Gunship and make it somewhat more practical. |

i've been pretty happy with some of the new releases lately. i love the new night raven, it doesn't bother me with the updates. nothing will replace the original. most things don't when it comes with anything. however, if this is the new dragonfly then bah! good god, let's go back in time hasbro and fully embrace v vs v and spy-troops. all of their best vehicle designers are gone, so long Ron Rudek, we miss you.
the wild william complaints are long heard by now, but WTF! retire that cowboy to a ranch in texas already, the constitution has! you miss a perfectly good opportunity to repaint wild weasel as skystriker and give us a cowboy for a jet pilot and now the copter pilot he is. the copter is a fang at best, with the photo i see. the apache chopper i've seen on this thread is far superior, i am afraid. total bummer. they are turning in c+ work before their finale, imho. AH-64 Apache (by BBI) "apache/dragonfly...thing" AH-1W SuperCobra by 21st Century Toys original Dragonfly.. Now you tell me, where is the weakest link?

AH-1W SuperCobra is still in use by the Marines. They have a AH-1Z coming out soon, but its almost a totally new model.

The new Dragonfly's tail is closer to the ground, whereas the original DF's tail was suspended in the air.
Take your new Wild Bill and put him next to the tail of the original DF. Now tilt the DF's tail toward the ground. It's at a similar height to this new one. It's easy to replicate the high angle this shot is taken at and the DFs look similar in size. The original might be a tad longer, but the new DF seems bulkier. I don't think this is nearly as bad as the VvV and ST vehicles. It's got some nice angles as opposed to the rounded look of those vehicles. I think if it was in a more olive color and fully assembled, people might be more for it. I'll obviously wait to see an assembled production version before passing judgment, but I think it's a step in the right direction for the line. Joe vehicles should have one foot in reality but look a little futuristic. I never wanted them to have real vehicles. BTW, someone that has the 21st Century Cobra and the original DF, put them next to each other and take a pic. I'm sure the original DF is probably half the size.
