If they're holding true to Hasbro's example, the only difference they're making transitioning from 3.75 to 4 is by extending the calves .25; which would mean there would need to be minimal mold modification for the figure. It's interesting to consider the possibility of getting an armybuilder in varying heights if both lines continue to use their mold variants.

These new EF figures look decent, and better than the original metal (die-cast?!) versions from the '80's. I remember Eagle Force figures from the '80's, and had a couple of them. I wasn't that impressed. I always felt they were a 'poor man's' version of ARAH, which I strongly preferred.
Yes, the metal aspect of the EF figures was interesting, but I thought they were cheap (they got wobbly very easily), and I also didn't like that they were smaller than the regular 3.75" Joe figures. Here's a blast from the past: One of my favorite pop/rock groups from the '80's was the Australian group "Men at Work". The music video for their 1983 track "It's a Mistake" featured some EF figures in the beginning - ha ha: Last edited by Doctor Venom; 05-29-2020 at 08:26 PM.. |

Got to remember the Action Force people molds are smaller. The whole situation went down that Fresk Monkey Fiction and Zica split using the same molds when we voted and wanted the figures (which I certainly did) up-sized to be closer to MTF. So the mold that is in Action Force/Adventure people while the "same" is not the one they would be using for the EF Stealth Pilot. It would be the same type of mold but made to produce a larger figure.

I am pretty sure they said they were going to increase the digital file by some single digit percent to increase the size. So you could get varying height by swapping legs or torsos, but then you would have issues with ball joint sizes. Those would likely be fairly easy to overcome.
"Zica Toys: Comic Action Heroes I also wanted to mention that Zica Toys Comic Action Heroes is now shipping. Although this is not at line from Fresh Monkey Fiction, it does have ties to our lines in some way. 1st: These figures are being produced at our new factory and the quality is amazing. For those of you who have these or the Sectuars figures, this is the type of quality we’ll see with Eagle Force and Larry Hama. You can see a review of Comic Action Heroes here. 2nd: Originally we were going to share tooling with the Comic Action Heroes line for Eagle Force, but Zica decided to move to a new factory shortly after we redid and upscaled our Eagle Force molds (which included ALL the Comic Action Heroes parts). The upside to this is we can use a majority of the Comic Action Heroes parts for Eagle Force. Zica re-produced ALL their tooling molds after they left the original factory. So although we do share the some of the sculpting, we are not longer sharing the tooling molds with Comic Action Heroes. I mention this as many folks have gotten the Comic Action Heroes in hand and noticed they are a tad shorter than some other 1/18th figures on the market. As we are still using our upscaled tooling, Eagle Force will be larger than Comic Action Heroes and fit closer to other 1/18th figures on the market." So, one of the many affects from that first bad factory is there now exist two different sets of tooling molds (one for Zica and one for FMF) of the same sculpting and they will vary a bit in height - with FMF being a bit taller more in line with BFS, MTF, etc. |

This still doesn't tell me when I will see my Stealth Pilot and Eagle Force friends.

But to help you out, this is my exchange from the 5/3 update: Dod Ear: "The 3/14 update contains this timeline: March 31 - Deco samples ready for approval April 15 - Sample revisions complete April 16 - June 4 - Manufacturing June 5 - Product inspection June 15 - First shipment to US July 9 - 20 - Delivery arrives in our warehouse, inspect delivery and sort for shipment July 22 - Fulfillment begins I'm not worried about waiting, but to clarify does this mean the timeline is off by 2-4 weeks?" Bill Murphy: "Yes, the approval for the deco and tampos has taken longer than expected ( I had lots of notes) ...so once those are done in the next few weeks I'll update with a new schedule for production." This is the same factory used by the Four Horseman, that recently produced the Sectaurs, Adventure people and the Larry Hama figure that are shipping to the US now. They threw in an extra set of LH hands that weren't part of the original figure due to all the troubles, even though they weren't the factory that caused them. So, they want to get it right and thankfully we can all genuinely say we will have our figures soon. Last edited by Dod Ear; 05-30-2020 at 10:37 AM.. |

Wow - these really do look fantastic!
I participated in the Space Force Kickstarter that included that Captain Eagle headsculpt with brown hair (as General Flagg is I recall). I understand it’s an older version, but I hope the execution matches well enough between the 2 campaigns so I can use that SF head on the classic gold costume EF body.
