Actually, I THINK it is either EST or CST... I actually didn't mark that, but I've kept note of this in an "toy budget" excel sheet I keep, and I've been in the EST timezone for most of these past few years.
Here's the point in last year's thread when the exclusives went up: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ml#post4428945 For me, that post shows a timestamp of 1:27pm (I think CST, per Hisstank's note at the bottom of each page). So, my notes had the day (Wednesday) right, but the time wrong. |

Those times listed must be eastern, and may be slightly off. My order confirmation email from 2012 was at 12:10 pm. Last edited by NeilJam; 07-29-2014 at 12:07 PM.. |

I think so, too... Just googled and saw this
SDCC 2012 Exclusives Sold Out At Hasbro Toy Shop - Page 40 - GI Joe News Confirming the 2012 posting time was 12:08 EST which is about what I posted/had in my notes... Don't know why I had the wrong time for last years. It does seem to show that they've been going up later in the week and tend to be around noon since 2011. I'll be watching the exclusives page today, but not really expecting anything until tomorrow at least. Of course I say that...

I think people are ignoring one significant difference this year form years past, that these were Toys R Us/SDCC exclusives. Has HTS ever sold a Toys R Us Exclusive in the past? If not, why would this be the exception?
In the past they were Hasbro/SDCC exclusives, so Hasbro set aside extra quantities to sell through HTS. This year they are apparently doing something different, that being partnering with Toys R Us to sell them, and Toys R Us has already put them up for sale on their own site. There really is no reason to believe Hasbro is going to also sell the same product when they already have a retail partner to do so. It would defeat the point of partnering with Toys R Us. For years people have been complaining that HTS was incompetent because their servers could not meet the traffic demand and they needed to fix their system. Hasbro has possibly taken that criticism one step further and completely eliminated HTS from the process and let a retailer who is set up to meet the traffic demand handle the distribution. |
