Rockets on an MBT (which this HISS is, finally) are kind of redundant.
You could probably put some kind of radar array or spot light in it's place. |

I love all of the costume designs for this show (so much so that I wish these guys had been hired to do them for TROC) but I agree that some of the vehicles look way over the top and almost laughable in a sort of 'making up for male shortcomings' way. I don't know if any of you have seen Dara O'Briain's stand-up, but he has a great bit about the marketing of Gillette razors and how they use every teenage boy-type-terms to appeal to male consumers...ie. the Gillette Fusion Power Stealth Razor. Well, that's what I think of when I look at some of these, and it would make sense if this show was geared towards a younger audience again. I also noticed that the Hisstank has the Buck Rogers' star fighter cockpit which I thought might have been just co-incidental until I noticed the 70's Sci-Fi artwork on the same Deviant Art page... which is perfectly fine ("great artists steal..."), but a little more effort should have been made to disguise this Man, I'm sounding waaay too critical now, which is bad because I really enjoyed this series and would love to see another one.

Good God! That HISS is like the Tiger II of the Cobra Army! It's an absolutely glorious monster of savage military redundancy designed for the sole purpose of giving Tankers a raging hard-on! We must have that bastard on the shelves!

That Hiss Tank and even the helicopters are the kind of things Hasbro should be making. It looks awesome, looks and feels realistic, and looks like it could be a real military vehicle with just the right pinch of sifi thrown in. Fantastic! My only complaint is there are too many guns on the helicopter.
Don't like the trouble bubble. That’s to sifi. Last edited by Gatchaman; 04-29-2009 at 08:26 PM.. |

The tomahawk design just looks so ridiculously large, if you compare the cockpit/cargo area to a blackhawk it'd be like 2-3x larger, like they blew up an apache to 4x it's actual size and strapped a cargo area too the bottom. Even think about the cockpit to cargo area of the Tomahawk toy and you can see if this was made to a toy it'd have to be twice as long. (unless you bailed on the troop carrying aspect and just made it an attack chopper)
Agreed. I noticed the same thing. That toy would have to be huge. In real life it would be too big and what is the purpose of that mass of helicopter from the troop holding area on back? Either its a gun ship and take out the troop holding area and then shrink the whole thing or make the troop holding area bigger and get rid of all that mass in the back. Oh, and again, make it smaller. It's just too big. The look is really cool though. |

the Hind does both fairly well. Where the new Tomahawk stumbles is the weapons pylons on the wings. |
