Absolutely. The reality is little figures are worthless for display no matter how amazing they look up close. Size does matter. Since these won't have any soft gear they'll be much less fragile than Sideshow. And much less expensive.
The downside of course is making room for them.

Awesome I would love to get most Storm Shadows and Snake Eyes. I just hope paint apps are hard to rub off, read that the paint on some of the gentle giant Star Wars figures can scratch off easily.
Stands are a must too. |

GG's 12" Star Wars line was geared specifically for collectors and only available via their page or e-tailers. The 12" Star Wars figures are direct copies of the vintage figures save the larger scale. You know exactly what you're getting and the line relied heavily on nostalgia with vintage card art to complete the figure. I'm assuming this 6" Joe line would have been like the SW Black line, new figures (yes vintage characters/outfits) sold to the general public at brick and mortar stores as well as on line. Hasbro was just looking to find a SW market that wasn't already saturated (IMHO). This why I voted No for a new 6" line but Yes for a retro 12" line. With this 12" line we know exactly what we are getting and how it will look, only larger, that's the real grab of the line. No figure will peg warm and discourage retailers from carrying Joe product. Also expect for a couple exceptions (Lando, Yoda, and Gammorean Guard) GG released their retro Star Wars figures in the correct order. Episode IV figures first, then Empire, and eventually Jedi. If this Joe line does go through I'd like to see the same method. I'd prefer to see all original 16, then the 83 line up, before I see Flint or Zartan etc. but it sounds like many of you would prefer only fan favorites so I guess I'm in the minority here. Keep in mind GG did release a 12" scale of the old cardboard Cantina play set. Maybe we could get a 12" scale release of the Sears Cobra Missile Base?! Unless the higher price of both a 6" and 12" line was a deterrent the two lines are very differed in purpose. However this 12" line would rule out vehicles I suppose.

If they are 5 POA, I will not buy ANY. Better be o-ring replicas, or they will be wasting their time/money.

If GG is making them as retros then they'd have to be O ring styled or I can't imagine anyone would buy them. I'm just assuming of course. Not sure how they'll do the back and leg screws if at all. If there wouldn't be a back screw it would suck when the O ring gave. Unless they use plastic screws?

That brings up a good point, there are certain characters that have very unique weapons. This would be a good source for 1:6 customizers to get those weapons not made by Sideshow, such as Baroness's rifle. Another thought, there was a Wampa for Star Wars, imagine a 12 inch SNAKE. That would be a hard one to pass up.

As long as they are articulated better than the Star Wars products, I will probably buy some figures.
