We know that historically many of the figures in the vintage line were created from existing molds and repainted including Grand Slam so, it should be no surprise that this version was produced the same way. The figure looks good- it looks true to the original. Many completists wanted this figure and if the Club had not produced it then, its unlikely it would ever have been made.
I have a silver pads Grand Slam that I prefer to use in a display with my other figures because it differentiates him from Flash more so than this version. I will use this version in a separate set up with the HAL like how they were paired originally. As the 13th figure it's not what I would call an enticing bonus to buy the sub but, I didn't like the 13th mystery figure, Black Out from the 1st sub either. |

I didn't vote. I need an option that says I'm glad enough to have it - just not at the FSS 13th figure.

I think the cat has been out of the bag for a while , I'm going to go ahead and let you know also that Hershel died at the mid season break of walking dead , Walt dies at the end of Breaking Bad and they were all dead at the end of Lost.

The Club thought that the missile accessory was a good homage to the HAL, which the red pads one came with. In that light, it makes perfect sense and I end up liking it. Because they're right, silver pads Grand Slam is the jump.

I'm glad to get the OG Grand Slam, one I can put with a HAL (silver pads Grand Slam goes with the JUMP.) I'm relatively happy with this figure, but it IS underwhelming as the 13th "mystery" figure. There would've been complaints no matter which way the Club introduced this figure, but it's still a gap in many people's collections if it wasn't produced, so I'm not sure how anyone can "win" in this situation.

The guy that did the artwork says they thought about the jet pack, but figure that the jet pack is more associated with the silver pads Grand Slam (the one that actually came with the jet pack) and that figure had come out in the 25th.

Because they're right, silver pads Grand Slam is the jump. I do like the missile launcher set, it's a nice "nod" to his MOS as an artillery guy, and it gives the figure something. |
