I believe the Y/F-22 is a more expensive fighter designed for air combat.
The F-35 is based on the 22 buy is a cheaper model designed for multi-purpose missions. The 35 wouldn't exist without the 22. Most countries are opting for the cheaper model, since the 22 isn't realistically needed. The F-22 is more expensive and can carry a heavier internal payload. By the same token the F-35, though hyped for being affordable isn't exactly the cheapest option out there, another reason why Boeing is promoting their F-15SE. |

You guys really need to check out and read up on some of the new fighters coming from Russia. Some of these new concepts and fighters they have might give the f 22 and other new jets we have some problems. Please don't think we can beat any nation in the air with ease. Check out this beast from the east.

And outta China....
The big dog fights of air superiority are not over, and history will tell you that...The F-22 is in production and is going live in 2011 with like one squadron of like 10-12 planes as they are already paid for. The YF_23 Black Widow was cancelled in liue of the F-22 Raptor but still rumors abound they may go back to it. But both have been shelved by Obama and he wants to focus on the F-35 for the "terrorist" theatre combat since they don't seem to have an airforce yet...bleh never down grade your defense/offense, we saw what cobra did to the joes when the synthoids took over! In either case this plane is very similar to the YF-23 yet it looks kinda liek a newer design all together (reminds me of the Star Blazer fighters in a way!)which will be badass to have a brand new unique aircraft to go along with that hyper-futuristic Flagg! That super sonic transport that brought SEs in was hella cool too! |

The large cargo plane in one of the pictures is the back of a C-17A, which is a cool nod for me.

Wonder if a big cargo plane would be appreciated by fans, like a HERCULES C-130 or something similar to a C-17-just a thought.
Saw video, I picked my jaw up off the floor a few times, didnt know THAT plane could do THAT! Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmnn. War on terror, how about we take it to the PIRATES since we cant seem to find the terrorists, at least the NAVY is getting some experience. |

A Cobra C-130 would be just what the doctor ordered.. imagine being able to put a few Air Troopers and Para-Vipers in as well as a few HISS Tanks...

We can pick up the F-22 at TRU now under the "True Heroes" brand. Close enough.
Would like to see BOTH the YF-23 and the classic F-14 Skystrikers someday. If Hasbro won't do it, hopefully M&C Toys or Motormax will. |

SHUT UP! I Love me some Hercules. Those planes have always been my favorite. I built a couple of models of it. The Spectre is an awesome sight as well, but the main design of the Hercules is just..sweet.

The F-22 is a multirole fighter as well, and can carry more weapons than the F-35. The F-35 is just hyped as a cheap, multi role stealth aircraft, with stealth and cheap being the basis for hype.

By the same token the F-35, though hyped for being affordable isn't exactly the cheapest option out there, another reason why Boeing is promoting their F-15SE. The F-35 is designed with not only more of a multirole capability, but with a lot of modularity to allow it to be "Tweaked" to perform different missions. There are already several variants in the works, to include a VTOL variant to replace the British Harrier. As for the Soviet and Chinese Aircraft...don't believe the hype. Their "top of the line/state of the art" aircraft are generally a full generation behind the F-22 and F-35, technologically speaking. Still quite formidable aircraft (the Su series in particular) that shouldn't be underestimated, but pound-for-pound not a match for the next-gen fighters the US is rolling out. |
