At this point, as long as it's 3 3/4 and fully articulated... I'll buy anything Joe.

I'm really on the fence with Zombies and Joes... I really like Zombies, but I'm not sure if I want that in GI Joe. I would buy them, more than likely, but like the Zombie Viper, they'd be relegated to a shelf of Joe oddities or probably not displayed at all.
I'd rather they focus on really nice sculpts of the ARAH stuff.

That's kind of what I was talking about. Even re-doing some like Barbeque or Gung-Ho or Leatherneck from the concept case. In the end I would rather buy those than an entire line of nothing but Zombies... but like I said, I'd probably still buy the Zombies, lol!!

This has been said already, but as long as we get some more 3-3/4 stuff soon I'll be happy. Just re-release some of the harder to find popular late-line stuff. Something.

The zombie theme would be a great way to capitalize on a popular trend. Yes, they're not going to anchor the whole line around it, but it could inspire several multi-packs or waves of figures. Would it make the Joe brand huge? No. But it could generate some toy inspiration and sales from people that aren't just hardcore Joe fans.
Regarding zombies being "too adult," isn't there a rather successful all-ages video game called Plants vs Zombies? Zombies are in the zeitgeist. They're hot. The Joe brand can capitalize on it without dipping into gore, which Hasbro wouldn't do. Just like they capitalized on other trends in the 90s which some people defend as being good business. Having Cobra be responsible for creating and using zombie forces totally fits in with their history of diabolical (and often ridiculous) plans. Again, it doesn't have to be THE focus of the line, but it can be A focus. |

Yeah, I really don't understand the resistance to this idea. What do people want - just another plain old "Joe vs. Cobra" storyline? How many times can they rehash that?
Just think of this like Marvel's Zombie stories. It's just a fun take on an existing theme, and it can exists "outside" the normal continuity (whatever that happens to be for you). It's not gonna take away from "normal" GI Joe to have a line like this for a year or so.

Much like the change to the 3 3/4" scale revitalized the brand in the early 80's, the new KREO line might be just the shot in the arm G.I. Joe needs to survive. The G.I. Joe toy-line was more than just action figures with a vehicle offering or two. It was a toy-line represented by fantastic play-sets, a multitude of vehicles and some of the best characters to come out of the 80's. Unfortunately with today's toy market the brand has been reduced to a 1/3 of what it once was and is sadly only carried by one major retailer - Toys R Us. KREO however gives the brand a chance to once again relive the adventure and more importantly it targets what the brand needs to survive - kids. If Hasbro plays their cards right in in 2014 and 2015 we could potentially see a return of fantastic play-set and vehicle builds as well as an expansion to other retailers and hopefully a tie in cartoon and video game. Much of that is wishful thinking, but I fully believe KREO is the scale that will make G.I. Joe a winner at retail once again. |

With Walmart now carrying zombie Kre-O sets and blind bags along with some Kre-O Transformers maybe Walmart will jump on board with the GI Joe Kre-Os.
