Got to remember that movie tie-ins were pretty much nonexistent for Hasbro this past quarter. That's the main reason Marvel product is down so much. Likewise Retaliation product would have been sold the quarters previous.
Basically, Hasbro didn't have any big media tie-ins after Iron Man 3 this year. They've got a "mini" tie-in with Thor: The Dark World, and that's about it. Basically: Don't assume that Marvel "and other brands" being down is a sign of some continuing trend. Marvel will be back up next year when Captain America 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy hit, (plus Transformers 4 will no doubt be big), and expect a huge year in 2015 when we get Avengers 2, Star Wars Episode VII, and probably G.I. Joe 3 in the same year. |

We ARE the model train collectors, complete with conductor hat. I will still hold out for anniversary product (50th Joe and 35th ARAH), Joe 3 movie product, as well as Club/FSS output. That's where we will hopefully see vault product.

Or Mattel who may have gotten a Superman boost this year. |

If you have to use the word "bitching" when people point out serious problems with their favorite franchises then you don't deserve the community's respect because you don't show any. The "I'm a better fan than you" mentality that you perpetuate is a cancer within any fandom and does not belong. Being a jerk won't help G.I. Joe grow and be a successful franchise. Quote:
The biggest thing I'm afraid of is the line moving to a club or online only some sort of exclusive line. I will not continue down that road. Like the above poster said I'll love gijoe till my dying day but all good things usually come to an end somewhere. I really think if it ever goes to a collector only line it'll surly die.

Saw this over on TNI and linked the actual article.
Hasbro profits are up 17% reporting $193 million thanks to Games an Girls toys. Unfortunately Boys toys fell 17%. I wonder why? (Sarcasm) Hasbro third-quarter profit up 17% - MarketWatch its great their profits are up, will make their shareholders happy. But they got room for improvement with thier boy toy brands. I would have loved to have seen more joes/vehicles this year. Maybe this tidbit of news can get the 50th anniversary line a little more attention. Quote:
