Our Wal-Mart told us months ago that they were discontinuing the 25th. line. ('course they then stocked 1 peg out of the 4 they had tags on) I'm not sure what to think as they never restock anything I want and they have never had any vehicles/comic packs/dvd packs or multi-packs. They completely remodled recently and just the last few days rearanged the toy department, they put up 4 pegs marked for joes again, but only put out the 2 cobra divers they've had awhile now, but their corps figures have been restocked.
Kinda makes one want to yell WTF Walmart! Do they not remember years ago when they actually had their own Joes based off the Walmart founder and what I assume would be some of the board members? (news to anyone? here's a link to YoJoe) |

The breakdown of the great Wally World Joe selling machine doesn't faze me. Wally World has never supported the new Joe line like they have done with all the other items they sell.
Target and TRU seem to be the biggest supporters, they tend to get the best G.I. Joe exclusives, and hell TRU was the only retailer that sold G.I. Joe ARAH figures between 97-2000. They were the exclusive carriers for DTC in 2006 as well. |

Hasbro is not stupid. Although the packaging will change, I fully expect ARAH characters to appear with ARAH styling in the movie line at some point. They need to keep the line going during the two or three year gap between movies.

My walmart restocked a few weeks ago, and now all but 2 comic packs are gone, and only 1 peg of singles are left. Somebody is buying them. I would love to see the resolute packs on clearance, but I won't hold my breath.

Wal-Mart seems oblivious to the older collectors. Instead it appears they focus solely on toys that were intended for kids to play with.
If I had to solely rely on Wal-Mart for my Joes I wouldn't have half of what I currently posses. Shoot, to this day I never did get a Lady Jaye single card figure! It sucks because Wal-Mart loves to brag that it's the largest toy store in the nation, yet they have a very poor representation. It's almost as if they have the attitude of "Nyah, nyah, we drove all the other stores out of business so now you're stuck with whatever we choose to offer you!" |
