Colton? Who said that? A crazy person must have said that. As for Shadow Tracker, if I could go back in time and pre-order that POC Wave 4 set, I would have saved $30 AND I'd have a free Skydive figure. So, yeah, Shadow Tracker is a great example. If you're living somewhere where those were growing on trees, then you might be all right. Whatever. I have no stake in whether anyone pre-orders or not. I'm just trying to head off all the inevitable whining. |

I have really mixed feelings on preordering this wave. Late wave movie figures are notoriously scarce, and I really want these 3 figures, but at the same time (with shipping) you're essentially paying twice the retail cost if you preorder them. However, that could end up being a good investment if they are super hard to find you would easily save the money in time and gas having to drive all the place and come up with nothing. Tough call. How many of you guys are gonna do this?

Man, $15-20 is a whole lot of dough to be throwing down on a figure that no one has in-hand yet to review, or determine the plastic quality, etc. What a disappointment it would be to get a $17 Night Viper, and he has rubbery spaghetti legs. This makes me nervous. Hell, it made me nervous pre-ordering the Ultimate wave figures, and all told they only came out to around $11 per figure— just a bit over regular retail price. But that would still be way too much for a rubbery-legged figure.

I will try to catch wave 4 at retail; I only want Jinx, Blind Master and the Night Viper! Paying $49.99 to $69.99 for the three figures is a little steep for my taste (..that is not including shipping & handling)! I will take my chances with retail on this wave!

I pulled the trigger on the 3 pack. I like the hunt, but I like the ins. of getting the figures I want. I'll still hunt, mainly at Target, as I'm there at least once a week to get something for the kids or baby. If I find an extra NV while getting diapers, then it's just a bonus.

The best deal is smalljoes 3 pack at 49.99. That's 16.66 a piece, but it gets worse. For me, I'm not interested in Jinx or Blind Master (let alone LJ in the 4 pack), so I'd sell those off. Many, many people will be doing this so, AT BEST, I could get 15 a piece for Jinx and Blind Master. That's basically spending $20 on each Night Viper. I'll look for them at retail, but even if I can't find them and get scalped on ebay, I think I'll be able to find them for around $20, the same price I'd be "in" for by buying the preorder sets.

I'm in the exact same boat... After thinking long & hard about it, I decided to pass. Here's why:
The best deal is smalljoes 3 pack at 49.99. That's 16.66 a piece, but it gets worse. For me, I'm not interested in Jinx or Blind Master (let alone LJ in the 4 pack), so I'd sell those off. I'll look for them at retail, but even if I can't find them and get scalped on ebay, I think I'll be able to find them for around $20, the same price I'd be "in" for by buying the preorder sets. And while Jinx and Blind Master aren't as desirable as NV, they're still pretty decent and there's not going to be enough of them out there to flood the market. So, I think you're really low-balling how much you'll be able to get for an unopened BM/Jinx and you're REALLY underestimating how much even a loose Night Viper will run you, unless you get lucky. I'm expecting prices in the secondary market to put these figures out of reach. It's all speculation, but I'm pretty sure you could sell two of the figures and pay for the entire set if you time it right (ie, wait until people realize they aren't going to get them at retail). I don't plan to do that. I'm keeping them all, for now. |

I don't say it lightly. In fact, I've never said it before.
