well that was a waste of 5 minutes of my life. Lock this damn thread unless there's proof. And yes, rumors and everything, but shit, I could just start a thread saying that "I heard Resolute was going to be on MTV" and have no proof, which is dumb. Unsubstantiated rumors are not news or rumors, just a waste of space.
Also, unsubstantiated rumors are rumors. Substantiated rumors are generally known as facts. EDIT: I came sooooo close to adding one more post with the word SPAM. Nazis.

OK.. first and formost..
1.) I understand everyone is having a panick attack about being on spike and not owning a VCR to record with.. (hell I havent had a vcr is the upside of 12 years + ) --- but did everyone just forget that the show is still going to air ONLINE.. watch it whenever you want!! The OP didn't say spike exclusively - he just said it was coming to spike.. 2.) I JUST got a dvr like 3 weeks ago and I will say it was the best investment ever. If you have a dish just call the Sat company and be like I WANT ONE.. they will put it on your bill and lease it to you.. it cost an extra $5 a month to have with directv.. + $5 for someother stupid charge with it - switch to online billing and they will take $5 off your bill for being "GREEN" with your statement - making it $5 extra a month to have. 3.) This cartoon was not setup for kids it was said from day 1 that this was an adult / older fan setup. The ACTION FIGURES - or "toys" as it was put - are out for the collectors - nothing to do with kids. grumble.. my rant is over. |

2. If it had "nothing to do with kids" then Hasbro wouldn't have put them out at mass retail. Hasbro doesn't put anything out at mass retail that they want to "only sell to adults." If you look at the figures they DID release, they're exactly the ones that one would expect to appeal to kids and adults alike. They look cool (well, except maybe that Resolute Destro) and encompass "core" characters and troop builders. Seriously folks, there's no shame in admitting we collect toys. It's just a simple statement of fact. We are not, and never have been Hasbro's primary concern as a market. They consider themselves a manufacturer of toys for children. We're just a nice little "bonus market" to them. They throw us some bones now and again, but don't let that fool you into thinking we're somehow their primary focus. |

So...is it coming to Spike TV or not...?
I hope so. Maybe this is why there is a delay in it's release.. |

1. Action figures are toys. (Unless ACTION FIGURES is some acronym I'm not familiar with, and that's why you felt the need to put it in all caps.) I know some adult collectors feel some desperate need to deny that they collect toys so they can feel more grown up about it all, but that's all it is: Denial.
2. If it had "nothing to do with kids" then Hasbro wouldn't have put them out at mass retail. Hasbro doesn't put anything out at mass retail that they want to "only sell to adults." Yeah, I admit I play with toys, but saying that people won't make it if it weren't for kids is just shortsighted and displays a great lack of knowledge of the industry. Sideshow Collectibles caters to that market exclusively, and Hasbro to a great deal with the 25th line, a line started with the release of not all the most kid-friendly characters, but the ones we remember most fondly. But hey, I guess that Warner Bros is aiming Watchmen to a kids audience because I saw their figs in Toys R Us too. |

You DO realize that the collectors market are a lot of what's keeping the modern toy market alive while more and more kids are playing X-Box and Wii? You think any parent in their right mind paid $100 for a Millenium Falcon for their kids? That was pure nostalgia pushing that bad boy.

But hey, I guess that Warner Bros is aiming Watchmen to a kids audience because I saw their figs in Toys R Us too. If the Adult Collector market were as "important" as you make it out to be, Hasbro also wouldn't be discontinuing the Modern Era line for the movie line laden with "action feature" launchers and the like. Seems to me you're one of those collectors vastly overestimating their market share. Do adult collectors make a higher proportion of the G.I. Joe "Modern Era" line than other lines? Sure, I'll buy that. Are they ALL of the buyers? No. Not even close. If you take the entire population of the YoJoe.com forums (The largest Joe-based site I know of on the net), you get less than 11,000 people. You really think 11,000 people are keeping the Modern Era Joe line afloat all by themselves? PS: The 25th line started with virtually ALL the "kid friendly" (read: Core) characters in two handy boxed sets. You know, most of which have received multiple repaints and re-releases since then.
