I dont remember specifically in '82, but by the mid to later '80s, the Canadian cards were very similar to the US cards but the file card info was shorter, we lost out on the second section of info. I remember getting Hit&Run from a trip down to the Washington state and thought it was super cool to get way more info on his file card.

Anyone over in canada willing to get me a set that I can either buy or trade for? I picked up a ton of extra cobra legion 5 packs - so if any of my canadian brothers would like to trade maybe 1 or 2 of the legion packs for a couple of those sets I would be greatful.. though the legion packs are going to cost a little more to ship..
so maybe - 2-3 of the carded wave 5 sets on those bs cards for 2 packs of legions or a pack of legions and a pack of the GI Joe Heroes? Last edited by shdwknt; 01-18-2008 at 08:16 PM.. |

For the 1982 ones, all the background information (ie. the first section after filename, primary specialty...etc) was omitted and they only started with the last section. |

I picked up all 5, plus an extra crimson guard, at wal-mart, as well as the 3 comic packs at zellers in winnipeg. Checked yesterday, all cleaned out. By the way, those comic book packs - is it just the cover that's been redone or the entire story. I don't feel like opening them just to check.

I hate to be a whiney collector, but the "paper filecard" thing has bothered me since 2000. I understand it's cheaper for Hasbro Canada to print the multi-lingual cards on paper and toss them in a generic package. It was almost tolerable before...but now, with the 25th series having a re-creation of all those absolutely EXCELLENT character portraits...to have them taken from us is just too much!
*sobs* Thankfully, there is eBay and comic shops ;)

What they could have done was do a straight re-release with the packaging and art and have the paper file card in French inside the package. They would most likely stick the big white ugly sticker on still if they went that method though.
