SS could always go back to work for Cobra. He had his beef with Zartan and took care of it. He's gotta eat, and Cobra seems willing to hire just about anyone. Besides, Cobra lost a few guys and might need SS back.
It could make an interesting angle for SS. He's working for Cobra, even though the events that initially pushed him there have been resolved. Does he still want to be associated with an evil organization? What other role is there for him? Probably deeper than they'll ever go, but it might make him more ambiguous. I still think the SE/SS fights haven't been that great. Partially because the SE suit is still too restrictive. It does get a bit monotonous to have SE and SS immediately square off with each other. I'd rather see SE going through some Cobra troops. Or having a kick-ass fight against numerous ninjas. I'd like to see SE stealthily taking out some Cobra guards and breaking into some facility. I feel we haven't really gotten that side of SE yet. Now that he has killed Zartan and gotten his revenge, what point is there to go down the path of evil once again? It's like I said earlier, his revenge doesn't make any of his wrongdoing in the past, right, but why continue to do wrong when the person largely responsible has already been killed? I can see him helping the Joes in part 3..but only if asked nicely...reminds me of the V2 file card: Quote:
...Unhinged by the murder of his uncle and mentor, he infiltrated Cobra, seeking revenge but found vengeance to be a poor substitute for life. Now, in semiretirement at a remote mountain hideaway, he occasionally takes on a special mission or two-if Snake-Eyes asks him nicely.

In the movies, Storm Shadow seems to still resent the Arashikage for them not trusting him, even though the evidence was against him. So I wouldn't want to see him rejoin the clan. He's killed people, destroyed the Eiffel Tower and stood there while London was wiped out. I could see him doing like in the comics or filecard said and try to go off by himself to figure out who he really is. Maybe he could be someone the Joe's call in if they have a dirty job to do. It might be a weird analagy, but I could see him being kind of like Doc Holliday in "Tombstone". He's a bad guy, but he's with the good guys simply because he doesn't like the other bad guys. Maybe they'll bring in Slice & Dice in G.I. Joe 3 and he'll have some grudge with them. It would also give him and Snake Eyes a chance to team up and have a four way ninja battle.

Be great if he did another. But it is a little to early to think about. The sequel is probably another 2 years away.

If he is in the sequel I look for it to be a situation like this: he will align with whatever side benefits him with whatever he is pursuing. That's also how I see the Baroness and Destro coming into play. They both largely played this role in the original Marvel run as well.

Lee Byung-hun in G.I. Joe 3 is basically a lock - he WILL be back for sure. Most of the movies' massive international numbers, especially in Asia, is because of him.

He pretty much stole the show in Retaliation, so I'm sure he'll get his wish. They'll probably have him take on an apprentice or something. Or potentially go the Master & Apprentice 2 route.
Retaliation handled the shift well. Storm Shadow didn't become "goodie goodie" or "nice" and he didn't just get over years of rage and resentment in one scene. However it opened the door for a transition to "good guy" if he can find some peace for himself. By a third movie finalizing the transition will feel more "earned." |

If Paramount does make a 3rd movie not bringing back Storm Shadow would be a major mistake. Of all the actors that have been involved in both Joe movies I think Lee deserves the most credit, because he's brought a lot to the series in terms of his skills as an actor, his enthusiasm, and staying true to his character.
But I also think he needs to go back to being a member of COBRA, not a Joe. |

He probably won't even wear a mask in the next one since he is getting more and more popular now. Did he even wear a mask in Retaliation? I haven't seen it yet. LOL.
